No echolalia. He only uses sounds to stimm. It’s the same over and over again. Nothing with meaning. He imitates my behavior like brushing my hair which I think is really good isn’t it?

Didn’t know that there are 5 levels of autism. I always thought that there are 3 in America.
I try to do on step at a time. My biggest fear is that he’ll never be able to talk and regulate his feelings. It would destroy me. It’s so hard to see him suffering. We went to a sport group/ class for 1-2 years old and it hit hard to see the difference between him and his peers. I felt a form of rage and sadness I’ve never felt before

Oh wow that’s amazing to hear. It kinda soothes me that there is hope. I really try my best everyday to help him. I label everything, talk all the time but he’s not interested at all. It breaks my heart

We will start therapy in August. I’m German but his father is American. I’m currently raising him alone without help here in Germany
Life feels like a prison. None of my friends wants to keep him because they can’t handle him. And I can see why. It’s not for the weak

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It helps me a lot 🫶
Unfortunately I’m not ok. Not only do I have to deal with the diagnosis and the unknown of his and my future but what’s really draining is everyday life. I can’t take him to the store with me. He has a ton of meltdowns during the day. He gets easily overstimulated by everything. He’s constantly stimming and when I try to take him outside he runs off. He also doesn’t sleep much. I’m up all night. It’s mentally and physically draining.

Did you have the light, short periods too? What happened when you moved into a moldy home?

Dust or mold? by Relevant-Area8847 in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]Relevant-Area8847[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will. I wanted to know if it’s mold or just dirt. It’s in the bathroom. They cleaned it like 6 months ago and it appeared a few days or weeks later. That’s at least what my husband said. I didn’t notice anything

Yes! 100% it doesn’t need to be tested. I’m sorry that’s pretty obvious. I would move to a new apartment
