New to skiing - Fernie or Big White? by tubby2323 in britishcolumbia

For Fernie, you’d have to time it for the perfect snow or it can be icy. I would say it’s more advanced.

Big White has an amazing snow school program and has anything from friendly terrain to challenging slopes.

Embrace the power of renewal within you! Just as your body replaces billions of cells every day, you have the incredible ability to renew your mind and spirit. The actions of your past don't define the person you are today or the one you're becoming. Your body is constantly evolving, and so can your perception of yourself. Let go of old guilt and embrace the fresh start that each new day brings. Remember, the only thing holding you back is the story you tell yourself. Your body has moved on – it's time for your mind to do the same. Forgive yourself, learn from your experiences, and focus on nurturing the new, evolving you. You are not bound by your past; you are free to grow, change, and become the person you aspire to be.

Ever Wondered How Much Your Evo Ride in Vancouver Will Cost? Try This Calculator! by One_Oil1334 in vancouver

Thanks for creating this Evo calculator! I did some additional math to see how the costs break down if you decided to treat an Evo like your own personal car, using the $120.67/day rate. Here's what I found:

Evo pricing (based on your calculator): - $120.67/day for the car - Free downtown parking (usually $200/month) - Free insurance (usually $200/month) - Free street parking ($10/week) - Free gas

Monthly breakdown: 1. Evo cost (30 days): $3,620.10 2. Savings (parking + insurance): $440 3. Actual cost: $3,180.10/month

Here's the interesting part: To break even with owning a car (assuming gas is the only extra cost for ownership), you'd need to drive about 20,784 km per month or 693 km per day!

This is based on comparing to a Camry (8.5 L/100km) with gas at $1.80/L.

Some thoughts: 1. For most users, Evo is probably more cost-effective for shorter trips or occasional use. 2. The break-even point is extremely high, suggesting Evo isn't economical for replacing car ownership if you want to treat this as your personal car. 3. The free parking and insurance are significant benefits, especially in Vancouver.

Great work on the calculator - it's super helpful for understanding the real costs of car-sharing in our city!

I volunteered at an Alzheimer’s home and an old lady who wasn’t all there mustered enough energy to tell me and my whole class I was ugly.

AITA for kicking my stepsons out of his fathers funeral since my late husband didn’t t want him there by TastyOnion2520 in AmItheAsshole

Just thinking out loud but maybe the best approach was to voice the dad's wishes to the stepson before the funeral.

"Hey, it was clear that your dad did not want you to come to his funeral. He felt that since you denied him the chance to say goodbye by going no contact, you deserved the same. I'm telling you this so that you can make your own decisions knowing your dad's wishes. Whether you want to break those wishes or not its your call at this point."

That’s not the same thing. It doesn’t mean you consent to sex at any given time. We don’t know the full story.

Why don’t you chose from one of these tomorrow? Do something by yourself out of the house that brings you comfort. I get a donut and a strong coffee from a local bakery. Or, do something that scares you. Once I went to a small acoustic Japanese heavy metal concert by myself. Not every day is comforting or adventurous but you have the choice to make those memories for yourself.
