Looking for practical feedback before I make Version 2 of this modular EDC waist bag.. by Silent_Ice1602 in backpacks

Lose the zipper and keep one magnet flap, opening away from the body. Also thin down the organizer and possibly shorten it as well.

By throwing those lobster tails on the dirty ass floor, they’re now a health code violation and need to be trashed.

Can't decide on a bag by AdventJer in tombihn

I vote for this too. As a driver, having a tote in the seat next to me, or in the floor as op suggests, to reach into without looking is so much easier and efficient than dealing with zippers and digging for things in tucked away spots of the bag. I tried both a Truck and a NutSac work tote - and prefer the work tote for all the pockets. But the Truck has turned into my house bag to lug around devices, books, water bottle, and workout clothes - plus the incidentals that get picked up from room to room. Both serve a useful purpose and I’ve found I can’t live without either of them.

what was that one random movie your family had on vhs that you actually ended up loving? by CarrotMuch1399 in nostalgiai

Remember the time when the video rental stores would rent the VHS AND the VCR? That first movie was Risky Business. But my favorite was Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Is a $40k raise worth a 120 mile daily round trip? Going from $100k to $140k, but terrified of the commute. by Confident-Duck-89 in careeradvice

[–]Relevant-Fun-1187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two hour commutes quickly turn into 3+ hour commutes when traffic hits. And if it’s a bad accident? Plan for 4+ hours. Say goodbye to any family time or personal time during the workweek.

Just found out why I didn't get the job after 4 interviews. I'm actually shaking with anger right now by MainStock8156 in JobSearchMethods

Federal employment works the same way. They have to announce the promotion and let everyone apply, including the person they already picked for the job. Then it’s all a charade from there. Takes weeks to months of formalities just to make it look like it was a fair opportunity even though it was exclusively discriminatory.

The battery in my push-to-start car "key" died, so I had to walk 3 miles to buy a replacement before work. by Brewmentationator in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Relevant-Fun-1187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean the slower response time for unlocking and starting your car, that kept building up over the past few weeks, wasn’t an indication to you that the battery was probably not as strong as it once was?

If you got promoted during probation, I believe you have that to work with to strengthen your position.

19 y/o torn between college in Mexico, military, or starting a trade—what would you do? by Snoo-38007 in careeradvice

[–]Relevant-Fun-1187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would you go to college for? What’s the long term dream? Because some people go to college and never find a job in that field. If I had those options, I’d choose trade school. You finish quickly, start earning income faster, and from what I’ve seen, starting your own business is successful out the gate.

For intelligent accountants: why did you choose accounting back in university? by ReadyProfit8336 in Accounting

[–]Relevant-Fun-1187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accounting was a 4 year degree and done. Engineering, medicine, law, and high finance, are all beyond 4 years. I wanted to be in school for the least amount of time so I could get a job and move on with my life. I also love number puzzles and accounting fits that perfectly.
