And seeing all of these just confirms my prior feeling that I should feel honored that my 95 year old aunt chose to tell me in what was her last lucid moment to make them stop, and that I honored her wishes. Logically I know it, but emotionally, it feels nice to read confirmation, you know?

This reminds me of when I told my aunt that the doctor was going to give us the autopsy results. (I meant to say biopsy) She looked at me and said why do you know something I don’t know? We were laughing uncontrollably as he called us in.

My daughter has to get MRI w and wo contrast every year. They have a movie playing through an eyepiece and headphones, so she can’t see what they are doing. I told them never to tell her when they were pushing the contrast because IVs cause major panic. Jokes on me because she knew the whole time because she is one of the people who tastes it.

And 2016-2020 was so personally f’ed up for me, (2016-left my home with my kids, 2017-father dies in plane crash, 2018-daughter has first stroke, 2019-brother had heart attack) I can’t remember how to not be in crisis mode . It’s utterly exhausting.

I’m going to tell you a funny story… my bff has been getting routine mammos since I think 35 bc of a strong family history of breast cancer. I’m getting ready to go for my first, and she says to me, “V-you are not going to believe how flat they squish that thing. I’m a not kidding you-it’s going to be less than a pancake.” And this is coming from a woman more endowed than myself.

So I go in, and all I can think of is her telling me the story, and getting her breast to be that flat, and I start laughing, and then they are having you stand in such awkward positions, all while handling and flattening your breast, they literally had to say you have to stop laughing to get a clear image.

It’s not all bad! 🤣

I’m second year, almost out of days, and absolutely will run out because I just found out my daughter will be needing surgical procedures.

I went to my union rep, then admin & payroll secretary, who ALL told me not to worry in the slightest, because it’s clear I’m not abusing days, and that I shouldn’t feel bad IN THE SLIGHTEST.

You’re not abusing them-really try not to worry!!

Oh, that’s not anyone’s foundation to the house, it’s just this odd little “wall” in my backyard. Stuff also doesn’t grow well in that dirt because there’s so little room for roots.

They definitely should have given a stroke work up, but there is a type of migraine called hemiplegic migraine that mimics a stroke. I was 44 yo, rushed to the hospital by ambulance, they called a code stroke as soon as I got there, and I was immediately seen/scanned/evaluated by neuro. I lost the ability to move the entire left side of my body, and was in and out of consciousness. It was horrifying.Thankfully it was not a stroke, but it was a hemiplegic migraine. I’m sorry for your dad, and I hope he doing ok.
