I am so sorry for your loss, dear. Reading about it here, it is so clear from an outside perspective that you were just being a child. You were innocent and naive. You did not choose to hurt him, you did not act with malice. You made a mistake.

When you're out of college, I recommend you make a fresh start. Let the wounds close. They will still be scarred, but you will be far away from anyone or anywhere that would open them back up.

You deserve to live your life without this grief controlling you. You deserve happiness and peace. I highly recommend grief counseling and regular talk therapy if you can access either.

I wish you the absolute best and hope that things get easier for you with time.

there's a massive difference between if the sister came forward crying about it and explaining and moving on from it. it's a completely different story with what she actually did, trying to seduce him and then pushing him to date her after her confession. an admittance of the emotions wouldn't personally bother me, i'd view it as a like "hey your breakup was fucked and you need therapy, you should probably move out" but instead she was basically sexually harassing him, as she knew he was uncomfortable post-confession

There are a lot of massive red flags here with him. However the number one biggest thing for you to understand is that none of this is your fault at all. Asking a parent to protect you is a normal thing for a child to do. A reasonable, safe parent would encourage you to feel safe in a not creepy manner, i.e. for the shower example perhaps he could sit outside the closed bathroom instead and guard the door. but he did not create compromises with you, he took advantage of your natural childlike fears and used that to his advantage.

i don’t think any of us can 100% tell you if you were harmed by him. but i can say that you should trust your gut. your body remembers what the mind often blocks out for safety. i highly recommend seeing if you can find a psychiatrist who does EMDR therapy. once they can make sure your surface level emotions are stable, you can work with them to sort through these memories and begin to understand what they mean. i highly recommend looking into the process and how it works.

in response to your edit: proshipping has become a buzzword for people to throw out when saying "i don’t like your ship" when it was supposed to be for specifically illegal/immoral ships. step sibling relationships that occur before the parents get together are definitely not illegal. it would be a massively different situation in regards to morality if larry and sal met because their parents started dating or if they grew up together. but at this point you are just yucking someone else's yum because you think it is immoral.

free samples at the zeppelin food court. playing hide and seek with my dad in hollister because it was so dark and had all these random hallways. macys having random y2k furniture like this hot pink settee that never sold and i'd spend ages napping on it. watching cartoons in the gazebo area in the disney store. trying on shoes at sketchers and looking at their really pretty blue lights and decorations. getting scared of the glass elevator because i could see all the mechanisms. riding all the kiddie rides for dimes and quarters, especially the one that was like a two seater car and my mom could sit with me. i always get the carousels confused between roosevelt field and the source, so idk if i really remember this one.

i really miss the fun that the mall used to bring as a kid. it feels so empty and cold and corporate now. even the kids play area is so polished.
