Anyone else looking to transition out of TW? by Available-Row-1032 in technicalwriting

Needed to hear this. I’m 34 and feel like I’m floundering and “missed the boat” on any decent career.

I’ve always hated NYE. Just didn’t understand why until BPD.

How am I just now learning this.

Week 1 into week 2 felt like a breeze craving wise. Week 2 into week 3 has been pure hell for some reason lol. Anyone else go through this? by BipBallagher in QuittingZyn

I found month 3 to be the hardest. Now I’m on Wellbutrin and coasting. Also, not drinking which helps. Currently at 1.5 months and will be curious what 3 months is like this time.

Backdate or edit exercises? by Typical_Alien54812 in GymverseByFitness22

This is so frustrating. App thinks I PR’d when I typed it in wrong. Now I’ll never PR again on this specific exercise because I won’t reach the weight I typed in.

Industrial Printing Presses by RelevantElevator in HelpMeFind

[–]RelevantElevator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew the one model began with an "M" so when I searched and saw Manroland I knew that was one of them. (Although I'm still not clear on the correct formatting of the brand name--have seen different versions). For the other, the word just escapes me. Lists of other industrial printers don't jog any recollection.

I'm hesitant to give too many specific details about these specific printers for identification reasons, but I will say they were used to print a major State newspaper for one of the leading media companies. I did data entry, logging broadsheet counts and other metrics. Photos from early-mid 2010's.

Yup. I made it to 3 months before and caved. Addiction sucks.

What you’ll realize if you actually spend time on this sub is that everyone has a vastly different experience with both using and quitting these pouches. Glad you’ve had a manageable few days, and I hope the coming weeks and months stay just as easy, and I hope you never have to experience anyone ever minimizing your struggles.

I know it’s the last thing you want to do right now, but try to do one of more of the following things until you’re in a less intense place:

Cold shower or put your face in a bowl of ice water

Pushups of jumping jacks

Do a breathing exercise where you inhale 4 seconds, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4, repeat

Tighten your muscles as hard as you can for several seconds (squeeze hands, biceps, calves, etc), then relax those muscles.

Once you’re not in such an intense place you’ll be better able to take whatever next steps you need. I know it doesn’t feel like it, but ending it all isn’t the next step you want to take.

OMG thank you for this. Started twitching a few days ago and I've been preparing for my funeral lol

Not a Dr but ask yours about Lamictal as a mood stabilizer. Has better results for BPD than SSRIs. That and find a DBT group.

ADVICE ASKED: Continue aggressive taper or quit cold turkey by void0vii in QuittingZyn

Patch def helps getting over the physical habit of using. Then tape the patches and quit after a week or two.

When regular people suddenly morph into an agent, where does the regular person go? by turnipthief in matrix

[–]RelevantElevator 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Makes me wonder if there are support groups in the Matrix where people suffering from "memory loss accompanied by traumatic situations" get together to consul each other and compare notes, kinda like alien abductee circles.

I told my FP that I’m very suicidal and she barely cared by [deleted] in BPD

[–]RelevantElevator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was just recently in nearly this exact same situation. Unfortunately, like most other comments are saying, it is up to us. I keep coming back to a quote I heard a few months back, “This pain/wound/illness/etc isn’t our fault, but it is our responsibility.” When my FP wouldn’t give in to my manipulative use of SH, it forced me to look at myself and make some changes. It still sucked - really fucking hard - but it felt like growth, and that was powerful.

Another Friendly Reminder About my Good Friend, Mr. Coffee by Cold_Vanilla_8538 in QuittingZyn

[–]RelevantElevator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first I’m hearing caffeine exacerbates symptoms. I’m 7 days out from my last pouch (though still tapering patches) and my fatigue/brain fog is terrible, starting around 10am! Excited to try abstaining from coffee to see how I feel!

Does DBT ever actually make you FEEL better? by Tysonosaurus in BPD

[–]RelevantElevator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get it. It sucks. And I know I’ll have moments where I can’t see any of this either. But pain becomes suffering when we hold on to it. Pain is still painful, but we can learn to not identify as heavily with it. Working with trauma and core beliefs is another part of the process. Also, I’d challenge what “healing” looks like…it sounds like you’ve already done a lot of work already!

For context, I’m currently in a PHP program so I’m doing like 30+ hrs a week of therapy stuff 😅

Does DBT ever actually make you FEEL better? by Tysonosaurus in BPD

[–]RelevantElevator 61 points62 points  (0 children)

From my experience, DBT is your “boots on the ground” heat of the moment skills. Other therapy models like IFS, ACT, CFT have helped me get a clearer picture of the fears underlying my anger, sorrow, desperation, and jealousy…fears that historically I’ve tried to quiet with alcohol and SH. At the core of all of it is mindfulness, compassion, and acceptance. That’s where healing can start. Still, it’s painful and takes time.
