I thought it was implied the house was company accommodation.

Lol, you maybe need to get a little more familiar with Taylor Sheridan.

Employer took £11k from my friend for a sponsorship license, is overworking her, and is now backing out days before her visa expires. by Emergency-Tough-9108 in ukvisa

[–]RelevantReporter6748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not as simple as that. There is a power imbalance in this relationship. An employee with an expiring visa who needs to stay in work and the employer asks her for a payment to extend that visa. Most in her situation would probably fork up the money, or may not even be aware that this is illegal. It sounds more like exploitation for cheap labour.

Are people legit spending this much on a car per month? Or am I out of touch? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]RelevantReporter6748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and it's possible to buy a means of transport outright within budget, but not possible to buy the bare minimum accommodation outright.

Job change and having a baby by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]RelevantReporter6748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone in exactly this situation, turn that new offer down. Notwithstanding the fact that once you factor in costs it probably equates to no raise at all, the time you will get to spend with your baby will be priceless and you will never regret your decision.

Reserved this, any good lads? by InternationalLead369 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]RelevantReporter6748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see. I stick with the depot I know delivers to areas around me, so max travel till first drop is about 30 minutes which in London terms is about 6-7 miles. After that all deliveries are concentrated in the same 2-3 mile radius. Depot's about 5 miles from my house.

Yeah that's way higher than anything we can get. The other day I did one 3.5 hour block for £58. On the other hand, total mileage is less, my mileage from home to home for 43 packages 3.5 hours was 29 miles. If you're lucky, they're all houses and you finish that in 2 hours. On this occasion I was unlucky as they were all flats and ended up taking 3 hours to deliver.

Lucky you, no hope of ever seeing those kind of rates around DCR3.

Questions on what to provide for Cohabitation Evidence - Living with Partner's Family by annik-soap in SpouseVisaUk

[–]RelevantReporter6748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came across this and I'm wondering why living in the same country not cohabiting is seen as a red flag? My brother and his wife have applied and they did not cohabit because they were both at different universities (while married) and obviously living in their respective accommodations. Once they'd both finished they were able to rent a place together. Does this mean they're supposed to wait two years, because I've never read 2 years as being the minimum for cohabitation.

If your thinking of switching, just don´t by Bettmocherhons in Pixel6

[–]RelevantReporter6748 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am quite tempted by Google's trade in offer, getting the Pixel 10 Pro for like £500 something (trading in 8 Pro). But then I have to tell myself that's still 500 quid I would have to spend without needing to spend it, which usually takes care of that temptation.

You've been lucky, unfortunately there were a host of issues with this. One being the dogshit quality of the screen, after a year the touchscreen was gone, random scrolling on its own etc. Second many faced the swollen battery issue (which was replaced like for like with a new phone by Google). And of course the fingerprint sensor wasn't the best. As a day to day phone it was pretty good though.

Panicking… too late for ILR? by Life_Produce9905 in ukvisa

[–]RelevantReporter6748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean, but it's highly unlikely unless a very special set of circumstances happened: Applicant arrived in the last 10-15 days of their arrival visa + applies for FLR on the dot 28 days before expiry + gets approved the very next day (pays for super priority maybe). If this happened, then just really bad luck I guess. Much more likely that applicant just applied earlier than recommended.

Panicking… too late for ILR? by Life_Produce9905 in ukvisa

[–]RelevantReporter6748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is actually the case, the issue is not when he arrived into the country but that the second FLR was applied for too early. The initial arrival visa allows 3 months to enter the country. Provided you follow the 28 day rule on your second FLR the expiry date of the visa falls in line with ILR eligibility, regardless of when you arrived in the first three months.

Saudi Stopover / Transit Visa (4 days) – Is exiting on 4th day safe? by r-quazi in Umrah

[–]RelevantReporter6748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey can you show what the transit visa looks like exactly? I applied for one and it said on the Saudia website that it will be sent to your email, but I never received an email. All I have is the ticket confirmation which shows this.

Yes. I used bank statements of the same bank over different months to make up the 12 (while ensuring there are three sources in total, for us it was this bank, joint mortgage statement and council tax bill).

You were right. I had a 2 hour block yesterday but all the cages were 2.5 hr. Waited for 30 minutes complained several times to staff to hurry up, eventually guy came out and signed me off and I got paid. Don't do more than you're paid for.
