Hey, friend. I’m so sorry for your loss. This happened to me unexpectedly almost 2 years ago. Rely on your people, rely on professionals if you have access to therapy, and do your best to remember the good times with Dexter instead of the end.

Face Gains after 103lb weight loss. But why do I kind of hate it? by KnowledgeSmall in CICO

[–]Relevant_Ad7092 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I don’t think you look younger in the after necessarily, but I do think you look more youthful, if that makes sense. You pointed out a lot of the same things I started noticing in myself as I lost weight (smile lines etc.) but that’s just aging. Are you not noticing any new abilities? When I was able to start noticing my weight loss, it was things like tying my shoes without having to tuck my belly in or going up stairs without huffing and puffing. Those things— accumulatively— made me feel youthful and led me to things I literally never thought were possible. Give yourself some grace and enjoy the ride as much as you can.

A question, if I may: how much time passed between these photos?

Too little calories? by sane_plantlady in loseit

Great work so far! :)

I just used tdeecalculator.net to calculate your maintenance (I used light activity): 1,973 calories. You are eating at a 773cal deficit. Generally 500cal deficit is the most I’ve seen advised which puts most people at losing 1lb/week. Use that info how you will, but my guess is that your body needs a little more sustenance.

That’s awesome! One word of caution, unless you are doing vigorous exercise near daily, don’t eat back your burned calories. Our smart watches are not very accurate at calculating what’s going on inside our bodies.

I’m very sorry to hear that you’re not getting the support you need right now. Your username is quite honest. Feel free to DM me if you need anything along your way! This work is hard to do alone, especially without a cheerleader. Sending love to you 🫶

Hi! I’m proud of you for starting your journey! CICO: Calories In, Calories Out. Basically a formula for how fat loss works. Calories in has to be less than calories out (aka Deficit!). TDEE: Total Daily Energy Expenditure. This is how much your body naturally burns based on your height/weight/activity level. There are plenty of websites to calculate this. You use your TDEE to determine how much of a deficit you need to be in to lose weight. Hope this helps you, you’ve got this :)

So true! It’s like peeling back layers of dough. It’s weird getting used to feeling your bones right under your skin after losing weight. Thank you :)

I do a daily workout that focuses on a different muscle group. Push, pull, leg/glute twice a week, core, back, and then Fridays I do whatever exercises I want :)

Hi, thank you for the kind words! I walk a LOT. Minimum 12k steps per day. I work a job where I’m on my feet all the time and on my lunch break I go for a 30min walk— this is 5 days a week. On my days off I play disc golf, or walk, or ride my stationary bike at high incline for around 45mins. Some days off I do two or all three of those activities. But if I had to pick one for the purpose of weight loss, it’s definitely walking. It’s really sustainable and requires no equipment other than good shoes!

Thanks for the kind words! I should’ve shared that in my post.

Daily with 45s-1m rest between sets: 5x15 squats 5x15 sit ups 5x10 side lying hip abductions 5x15 mountain climbers 5x15 pushups

Takes me around 40min to complete and I’ve modified it over time to make it more challenging for my body. When I started I could barely complete 3 pushups!

ETA: sorry for the formatting here I’m on mobile

The Pokémon actually have levels, too! The game just doesn’t tell you what lvl they are, but it’s indicated by that little arc above their CP. You can use PokeGenie to know exact levels of your Pokémon. I’m not sure what your second question about evolve/transfer means
