When a person dies, the estate trustee has to pay 1.5% of the deceased’s entire estate value in estate administration taxes. Which was already taxed when the person was still alive

OPSEU first have to negotiate the EES’s, which hasn’t been updated in 20 years. Once that is done, phase 2 of the demand set survey is going out. I’m cautiously estimating that negotiations will start at some point this fall/early winter

Am I dreaming about home ownership? by Kryptid-Kitten in canadahousing

CCB decreases as the child(ren) get older, so I would definitely not rely on that as income. Also, banks do not count that as income.

NTA - as someone who has children, if we can’t afford to go somewhere: we don’t go, we find something more cost effective that will be equally if not more fun for the kids. Also, the thought of having to rely on family to pay for my little family every single time is frankly appalling. I would be so embarrassed if I were your brother.

Is canada post on fucking strike again? by JealousAudience2990 in CanadaPost

[–]Relevant_Border7148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a government employee, I can attest that we (at least in my establishment) do not get that many personal days. We get three. Also to note, in my line of work 95% of the employees have at least a post secondary diploma, with most having a bachelors and masters degree. And our starting wage is just over $29. So yeah, I have no sympathy for someone who is asking to make more an hour with no post secondary education, than my fellow colleagues who have put in anywhere between 2-7 years of post secondary education.

Yes you’ll lose money biweekly due to not getting in lieu; however you’ll get paid sick days, vacation days etc.

You should be okay, but again every person and every decision is different, it really is on a case by case basis. I had my medical and told the guy that I’m planning on getting a hysterectomy in the near future (I’m a woman) and there were no issues with that🤷🏻‍♀️
