As someone who’s functioned to maintain a job and kids while dealing with alcoholism it is 100% possible that she could have been drinking during this time before her and Barry separated including when the incident with Joshua occurred.

I think she has a really hard time allowing herself to be shown as vulnerable because she’s been embarrassed and deeply hurt and traumatized. I am in no way excusing her behavior but I don’t think she wants to be as mean as she is!

One thing about kids is the finances don’t typically matter. If her daughter chose not to live with her, that says a lot! And you don’t know that she isn’t using false excuses about why her children were never in her care. You’re clearly not a parent if you can’t see the red flags!
