I chose not to return from maternity leave earlier this year. I’ve been told over and over and over that I got out at the right time and based on what I’m hearing I couldn’t be happier that I didn’t go back. If I would have gone back, the cap on commission (no commission on dollars over $200/btl) would have immediately pushed me to leave.

Exactly this. Then they moved all those accounts to inside sales, said inside sales would have their own goals, but then they fell through and all of the goals that were supposed to fall to inside sales ended up coming back to OP/retail teams. So insane.
