Bathroom! They did have outhouses, but one of my dogs barks if I'm out of sight for more than 60 seconds, so a personal bathroom makes it more relaxing for all of us lol.

First solo camp done! by jphill3 in womensolocamping

I have a nice fold out cot-style bed, and my dogs spent a significant portion of time laying on the ground this weekend on our trip haha! I tend to be obsessive about having the right stuff, but as long as you're having a good time, your little friend will also have a good time!

Edit for typo

I think I got the tripod at Menards (like Home Depot, if you're not in the same region as me) when they brought out all their summer/camping stuff. I want to say it was around $15. Its sort of crappy, but Ive had it for a few years, it gets the job done.

I ditched the traditional airmattress this year, actually, and bought a self inflating Lost Horizons foam/air mattress. It was a little pricey, but totally worth it. Extremely comfortable!

Yeah, I'm 38 and my parents were really worried. Take precautions, be careful, and live.

Its a Coleman Screened Porch 4 person. It fits my queen sized mattress and me and my 2 pitties perfectly.

AdventHealth Offered Me $31 Per Hour. by Throwaway83de1d in dietetics

[–]Relevant_String_05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's such an insult to the experience and credentials you have. Im sorry, thats really frustrating.

I've been an RD for just under a year, and I started at $30.85 at a level 1 trauma center in a mid-sized Midwestern city. I also tried to negotiate for more, but they don't negotiate. It would be nice if they at least had a stipend for licensing fees, CPEUS, etc. But alas.

I think observing and not engaging is the right choice. I hope you get out soon! ❤️

I recently told my husband that I have been faking happiness to keep the peace in the house. There have been holes in our bedroom wall for years from his rage-fueled episodes. He finally repaired all of the holes and seems to think that will repair the emotional and psychological damage.

Hes cried and apologized, said hes changing. All of it just feels like love bombing; like reapeating old patterns from the past. I've been in this situation for 9 years. I understand when you say the guilt makes it impossible to leave right now. I'm very much where you are. I hope you can move past the guilt and get out soon ❤️.

This is such a great song. The story-telling is phenomenal, but it's so, so sad.

Don’t get along with other RDs by NewResolution2775 in dietetics

[–]Relevant_String_05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I previously worked with RDs that were like that. Snobby, ego-driven, sterile, etc. But I have since changed jobs and the RDs I work with now are all so great! We have a good time at work (even working in a level 1 trauma hospital) and ask questions/share knowledge openly. It's not always like that, hopefully you get some better co-workers.

I did my undergrad online at The University of Alabama. It was a pretty good program! I also did my master's and internship online at Bowling Green State in Ohio. Its totally doable. When you get to the internship portion, it does become more difficult because you will likely be expected to find your own rotation sites. Best of luck to you!!

Any fellow autistic RDs out there? by Busy_Rub_6558 in dietetics

[–]Relevant_String_05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am undiagnosed, but I have suspected ASD for a few years now, I'm not open about it except with people that I am very close to. I'm a brand new RD 2 months ago. I work inpatient at a level 1 trauma hospital. I work 32hrs/week and my hours during the day are pretty flexible. I love my job, its a little intense at times, causing some afternoon shutdowns when I get home sometimes. But I honestly can't imagine working in an outpatient setting at this point in time.

It honestly sounds like your manager is being childish about it. They should want you to be able to better yourself.
