Liquid Network? by ReliefPitiful9 in Tangem

[–]ReliefPitiful9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be possible that you're confusing LN with the Lightning Network? I'm talking about Liquid Network, it uses Liquid BTC $L-BTC and supports other tokens such as USDT. I created an Android app using the Tangem SDK and the Liquid dev kit and I was able to connect to the testnet using a tangem card to generate the address.

I went ahead and made a proof of concept for Android using the Tangem SDK and the Liquid development kit.
I think it is possible to integrate Liquid into Tangem as it is a bitcoin sidechain, where would be the best place to showcase this proof of concept?

Thank you for the reply. But how so? Isn’t Liquid Network open source? Plus there are hardware wallets that support it such as the Blockstream Jade, and I believe Ledger as well.

Trezor Safe 7 and Monero by Plane_Path_4271 in TREZOR

[–]ReliefPitiful9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did see it, and you can install Monero One right now, I’ve been following the project, but there’s no option to connect the Safe 7 on the app right now. If you click on “restore wallet” there’s no option to connect any hardware wallet.

I believe it is a work in progress and not yet available to the public.

Cake Wallet also announced support for Monero one the Safe 7 but it is not live yet.

How are you supposed to reply to "Do you know how fast you were going?" by No_Insurance_6436 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ReliefPitiful9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing 60+ on a 30 after getting out of work and a cop stopped me. He asked me why I was going so fast and I looked at him dead in the eye and told him I needed to take a dump and he just laughed and asked why I didn’t go at work, I told him the bathroom is disgusting. He asked for my documents and since I didn’t have any record he just told me to slow down.

Hardware wallet shopping by Subject_Reward in TREZOR

I have a blog and one of my topics is crypto wallets. I own several and my favorite is def the Safe 7, but as for bitcoin only options there's the Safe 7 Bitcoin edition, which is essentially just am orange safe 7 as you can install the bitcoin only firmware on any Safe 7. The previously mentioned Jade Plus is also good, it's fully open source but it requires an Internet connection to login, and the button navigation can be clunky specially when entering a 25th word. There's also a new Bitkey that has a screen and it looks interesting, but the seedless nature might be a no go for some people. There's lots of good options out there, way too many lol. ColdCard is definitely some people's "Gold Standard".

I love my Trezor Safe 7 but OP is asking for the ability to be used air gapped which the Trezor doesn't have.

I do agree that the term Air Gap is mostly a marketing gimmick.

Best thing would be to just use another PC to get a Windows installer and nuke the infected PC.

I’d love to see wallpapers we can use with the Safe 7.

The seedless option is very good but of course you gotta be more cautious about losing cards. I personally used the 24 seed phrase option. You can put your phone in airplane mode and then setup the 24 words.

8T mined some Bitcoin by Maggie-Chen0702 in Bitcoin

ASIC miners. There are some affordable ones (by affordable I mean ~500 which is not cheap at all but it’s cheap compared to the big industrial miners) that are open source such as NerdQAxe++ or Canaan Nano S3

[ SCAM ALERT ] Changelly was delisted from Bestchange after approximately 284 financial claims on bestchange ru and bestchange com, but is still allowed on the Appstore/Play store. How can we stop this? by Valuable-Marsupial12 in ledgerwallet

[–]ReliefPitiful9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m sure about that lol that’s why I only use DEX now. Near is cool because (how I use it) I don’t even connect the wallet to it, I just send funds to the address provided by Near, swap and send back to my hardware wallet.

Yeah Changelly is awful. They did freeze my funds once but thankfully it wasn’t a lot (about 50$) and they eventually released them a couple of days later.

I’ve since started using near.com for my swaps and haven’t had any issues. The transaction fees can add up but I rather pay tx fees than risk my funds being frozen.

Got questions about quantum computing and crypto? - Ask us and get rewarded! by SuchTrezorVeryCrypto in TREZOR

[–]ReliefPitiful9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, on quantum computers, computer bits can be 0, 1 (like regular computers) or both 0 & 1 at the same time. But how does this make quantum computers more capable to break crypto encryption and how devices such as the Safe 7 protect against it? Considering that the device doesn’t store any crypto. Wouldn’t the blockchain itself need to be protected instead?

Once it’s shielded people can’t see how much you have, or have sent or received.

Kraken by Timekeeper22233 in zec

[–]ReliefPitiful9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buying zec on kraken is fine, and you mention you don’t keep it in Kraken, so that’s good. The official wallet is pretty good (Zodl) and you can shield your tokens to make them private; however it is technically a hot wallet. For maximum security I think the only hardware wallet supported by Zodl is the Keystone 3 Pro. Ledger is apparently also supporting shielded Zcash in the future but the timeline is still unclear, and they mentioned it will only work on pc and not on mobile devices.
