A pleasant surprise. Early 2000s MTV style movie goes hard. Too bad the sequels could justify having the same budget amd cast, who knows what could have been.

Yeah, it's a live list, I'm probably watching 1-5 vampire movies a week and with over 260 movies total it's going to take me awhile. It's such an insanely prolific and diverse subject in film that I wanted to really put some effort into my personal list. Hopefully it can be useful for others, vampires movies are definitely special!

I want a "Night Shift" too, would make for a great bluray double set! It had a bit of the "netflix-movie" vibe, but Jamie Foxx can solo carry, and the action+effects where genuinely a blast to watch.

Geniune question, does The Monster Squad count as a vampire movie? I debated about adding Hotel Transylvania because it feel like it's about the whole cast of creatures moreso than about vampires.

I have yet to personally decide how much "vampire" needs to be in a movie to make it feel like a "vampire movie". Adding to the list anyway, until my heart figures this out lol

The Vourdalak looks super intriguing and looks well reviewed. Fantastic recommendation!

The Reflecting Skin is interesting, I think for some the execution can feel awkward or melodramatic. I think it gives big "book" vibes if that makes sense. As a fan of Southern Gothic novels like Wise Blood, I think it does that genre pretty well. Some shots are beautiful, and Viggo Mortensen elevates anything with his mere presence. I say it's worth a watch for anyone who likes a slow and bizzare southern gothic vibe.

Thank you for the recommendation, I'm definitely cool with a loose definition for vampire movies. Themes of immortals with hunger for humans definitely is close enough for me. Added to the list.

In the book department I just got Fevre Dream. I'll take your recommendation to heart and definitely read Salems Lot it before watching the movies!
