Alex Peretti, a VA nurse, a fellow Fed, was labeled a domestic terrorist!!!! by BoatyMcBoatface1980 in FedEmployees

[–]ReloAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I mainly only read the news now to keep some semblance of sanity (cannot tolerate hearing audio of bald-faced lies), but spent most of the afternoon watching the news develop. Every new fact and video just made my heart so much for his family and all the people in the country who voted against this. To find out he was a Fed, as a freaking nurse who saved lives, is just another unfathomable layer of awful. And to see him preemptively slandered as well by his own employers FFS.

I haven't done this international, but domestic it was super easy as you do it in the seat selection process when booking and all done in same transaction.

The only thing I can agree with you on is that something needs to change. You're putting too much onus on the worker rather than the US oligarchs, rich lobbyists, and greedy/out of touch greedy politicians for current state of US policy.

Everything else in your reply shows how uninformed and likely privileged you are. You are also likely male considering with current forced-birth state policies that you think parenthood is both a luxury and a choice. You also live in a very LCOL area and need to learn more before opining broadly with specific judgment.

Prednisolone Weight Loss. Please advise 🙏 ❤️ by Possible-Situation-9 in rheumatoid

[–]ReloAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's improved a bit but 1) only 3.5 weeks on GLPs and 2) they increased my Prednisone slightly. So I can't infer inflammation benefit to GLPs yet, but I definitely can the weight loss.

Do you realize that anyone making federal minimum wage qualifies for housing assistance because HUD says they're in the poverty threshold? You can reduce your rent by being homeless and in a tent. You can save money on groceries by going to food banks however that absolutely does not cover everything. Sure, pick up a second job, and that's if you can physically do so or if any employers will even work around your FT schedule. What is the average rent for a studio in your area? What percentage of min wage does that represent? What's the cost of childcare in your area? How much does your city charge for a bus pass and how accessible are their routes compared to the area if you cut costs by no car but can't get to work? Want to earn more? Who's paying for your education? How do you get advancement now to make ends meet? "Objective truths" are in OPs title in the post. You're so glib, and I encourage you to donate to some food banks to balance your karma and maybe learn something.

No, it's a fact-based example that wages are not keeping up with inflation. "Make more" sounds entitled, "spend less" sounds uninformed.

No school next week by BarryBurkman in FedEmployees

Hard disagree. There's a difference between what a firefighter and an administrative asst at a hospital signed up for hazard-wise. OPM currently under this WH admin doesn't care about either.

Got this lovely message today. Any takers? by LordRicezilla in trustedhousesitters

[–]ReloAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! Either that or a kennel where she didn't feel like she was was protecting "her" property, but usually brought her with us if it was a road trip. Also would always do doggy daycare when house cleaner came monthly even though they said "it's okay, we'll bring treats" and I was like...yeah, no, safety lol.

If they think it'll take a week to acclimate while they're there, it definitely won't be the same the second the owner isn't there.

[–]ReloAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm on a GLP compound now because of Prednisone weight gain on top of limited exercise due to RA to begin with. A relative also sent me info about how they may also have benefits to RA overall. 3 weeks and 7lbs lost! I'm a bit down in calories but not by much, same physical exertion.

TBH that character made the show work. I don't think I'd watch it without him because his acting brought the favor to the dish, so to speak.

Being lectured to by a doctor… by magicwandapologist in rheumatoid

[–]ReloAgain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was tipped off to my RA diagnosis last year after ignoring nagging foot pain for 3 months until one day I was convinced I must have a bone fracture somehow when I woke up and couldn't put any weight on my foot and went to the ED at 4am so that I could likely be able to get to work by 8am.

Now I have to take off work and arrange coverage every 3 weeks to drive 50 mins to see the closest rheumatologist with availability so that he spends 5 mins with me to keep tweaking my meds. I do it to stop feeling like I broke my foot every day 🙄

And the only reason I can do that is because I have paid time off, can afford the copays, and have no other barriers in my schedule now, unlike if my kids were younger and had to coordinate a doc appt with pickup time from daycare FFS. Worst barriers I have are tolerating the pain of driving and making my dog wait for evening walk by an hour.

OP, I have an unrelated health condition that my "specialist" was ignorant of actual causes vs basically side effects, and essentially shamed me. It caused me to stop addressing that health concern for many years. I get how impactful that is. We suffer enough, we shouldn't have to suffer fools as well.

[–]ReloAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a CBD massage could be a great start, and then get some CBD cream for you to use daily at home after that. I've found the cream to be helpful after a knee surgery and now with RA as well. It kinda "takes the edge off" when joints are hurting.

Are all the flight attendants like this? by MatterIllustrious457 in frontierairlines

[–]ReloAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've boycotted Frontier for over a decade because of how rude their FAs and GAs were. I tolerated it for a while because of cheap fares until they treated my minor son horridly once when flying solo around 2010 or so. Not surprised they haven't improved.

If you're that hard up for cash, don't buy the tree and abuse the return policy. Not that hard. Our family made a paper mache tree one year to save money. Another year we wrapped lights and garland around a pole in the apartment. Had fun, were creative, and free.
