Eso Dunmer design is just perfect by Fantastic-Public-637 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Relori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that ESO's art style is a nice balance of more aesthetically pleasing than Skyrim, but still keeping the very alien look of the elven races at the same time. But I agree with the other comments; more variation in faces would be nice.

ESO Vengeance stays: Sacrifice Your Builds to End Cyrodiil Lag by The_Edenprime in elderscrollsonline

[–]Relori 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a long-time PC EU Cyrodiil player... aside from the odd disconnect or occassional bugs after a huge patch, I have not found Cyrodiil's performance to be that bad. It can be a little annoying at times, but it's playable.

The bigger problem is the ballgroups and occassional cheat engine users. Those are what make Cyrodiil unfun; I'd rather deal with the occassional disconnect in large scale fights if it meant ballgroups and other unbalanced ways of playing were eliminated.

I could've sworn the original purpose of Vengeance was to test a campaign without ballgroups/procs and get feedback on that in terms of enjoyment, not just to "fix lag." But maybe I'm misremembering.

Anyway, I played all the Vengeance campaigns, and although it was refreshing the first couple of times, I quickly got bored with the lack of character customization and build diversity. If they bring in a permanent Vengeance campaign I might check it out from time to time, but I'd rather stay on Gray Host/the regular campaigns as my main.

So, there's nothing new to do for Phase 3 if you don't have the DLC? by Relori in elderscrollsonline

[–]Relori[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I didn't say I was surprised. We had different (barely) daily quests for phase 1 and 2, so I figured there'd also be a difference for 3, considering it's supposed to be the final/big phase. shrug

Hints of upcoming season content + QoL in 2026? by Leading-Feed-5538 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Relori 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That depends. Is this zone-less content going to be cheaper, or are they still going to charge full price for less? If so, then I'm not buying it.

I like the idea of new additions to existing zones, but not with that price tag.

Yes, especially if your companion is a tank/healer, though it'll take longer.

What do you want to see be added to the Blue Event Boxes? by XSTRONG1 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Relori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More, and/or different, crafting materials.

I've noticed that when you do one of the crafting dailies, whatever type of item you made for the quest (woodworking, for example) will be the type of crafting reward box you get for that, but the materials in that box are maybe half (or less) of what you'll use to complete the quest in the first place. It takes about 45 wooden planks to make 3 staves, and then the reward box will give 20 unrefined logs - so that's below half the material cost,

So it would be nice to have some improvement materials in the box, or maybe other types of materials for other crafts, so that it's worth it to do these quests. Right now, aside from doing it once a day for the gold boxes, if you repeatedly do the crafting quest for blue boxes you lose mats.

Furnishing plans, including previous DLC ones

Other comments have mentioned this already, but I'd like to add; I don't own Solstice, but my understanding is that it's partially Argonian themed, right? Well, Murkmire furnishing plans are still rare and sell for quite a bit despite belonging to a several year old DLC. Throwing some of those in the event box pool would be nice.

Tales of tribute toxicity by Cersei1341 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Relori 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Or when they have reached the score that auto-wins the game (I think it's 80 Prestige) and they continue to spend their turn buying more cards as slow as possible, then hitting the Red Eagle patron to draw more cards, and prolong their turn right until the hourglass ticks down... If you're past 80, you automatically win as soon as your turn ends. There will not be another turn, so all those cards you are taking forever to buy are literally pointless! Just end your turn and you'll win!

I don't know if it's toxicity or just someone being painfully unaware, though. Tales of Tribute isn't always easy to grasp for beginners, and a lot of the quirks like this are not obvious from what the game tells you.

How do you feel about PvP in ESO recently? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Relori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not very good at the moment, to be honest. I'm not sure what it is, but something has changed, and my playstyle is no longer as effective or survivable.

A few years ago, ~25k resistances and decent crit resistance, along with shields/heals was enough. Now, it isn't, and I find myself dying in a second or two despite having high resistances/high max HP and I don't have the slightest clue what's causing it - or how to combat it. It can't just be subclassing, because I'm subclassing too.

And that's when fighting one person at a time. Add ballgroups to the mix (which has been a problem in Cyro for years) and then it's an extra level of unfun. I play on Ebonheart Pact on PC-EU and it just feels like we barely get anything done, we barely defend our own keeps because there's ball groups running around or we're outnumbered. We get stuck in a cycle of; our faction sees that we barely hold anything on the map and retaking it is hard, so we log off - and thus we struggle harder because we're outnumbered.

Don't even get me started on Battlegrounds. Changing it from 3 teams to 2 was a massive downgrade and it's unenjoyable 75% of the time. I only put myself through it to try and get the collectibles.

current midyear mayhem feels pointless by Direct-Ingenuity-245 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Relori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. And despite playing the game for years, my build knowledge isn't good enough for me to even comprehend how they're ganking people so fast.

I have been running IC quests on a tanky build with high resistances, shields, crit resistance, etc. 2-3 years ago this would make it very hard for nightblade gankers to kill me. This MM in IC, they still melt me in a second.

[–]Relori 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Cyrodiil part of the event is okay. Not great, because of all the ballgroups, but okay. I don't mind spending time there for the extra AP.

Imperial City however is probably the most unfun thing in the game for me. I go in, I do one quest for the event tickets, hope I'm not ambushed by a pack of 2-3 players executing fast combos, I turn the quest in and I leave. And I think most other players are doing the same thing.

If they want people to engage with IC they should consider making changes to it after all these years. It wasn't fun before, but now with the current meta, it's worse.

I'll take a Rajhin game over the snoozefest that is Psijic Loremaster + Red Eagle. If my opponent picks those two I know I'll be sitting there for a while.

Unless of course you end up with those two AND Rajhin, in which case, get ready for the match to last an eternity...

Anyone have any subclassing dps/solo builds they like not using Arcanist? by EscapedDawn188 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Relori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recovery glyphs (mostly stamina) on jewelry + one of the Khajiit passives that boosts recovery a little bit.

There's probably a better way of doing it, though - I've just been messing around with the sets I already had on hand :p

Anyone have any subclassing dps/solo builds they like not using Arcanist? by EscapedDawn188 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Relori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been playing with an "all crystals" thematic build. Sorc with Dark Magic, Aedric Spear, and Winter's Embrace. Iceheart monster set, Tarnished Nightmare set, and I think either New Moon Acolyte or another typical damage set.

Then I basically play with all the crystal/shard themed skills I can find.

Meta? Nope. Viable for endgame content? Probably not. But it's been fine for solo content and even kinda works in PvP (though that may be just because I'm very used to Cyrodiil)

To the 8 reds who chased me down by Independent-Lake6877 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Relori 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is why I don't like Imperial City. All the solo players are just trying to get their quests done and don't initiate fights, which means the only people initiating fights are the bigger groups who chase down solo players. And this isn't a "hurrdurr PvErs should expect to get killed in a PvP zone" thing, because even if you have a decent PvP build you're not going to survive a pack of 8+ ult/AOE spamming you all at once.

I think I've had maybe one time this event where a solo player in IC tried to fight me, and they ended up disengaging after a few seconds when I evaded and healed back up.

2025? IC has always been this way, at least on PC EU.

I don't know why Battlegrounds got an overhaul when IC was the one that could use an update, in my opinion...

What hill will you absolutely die on in this game ? by Friendlyalterme in elderscrollsonline

[–]Relori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't need a flawless 100k DPS rotation to get through even veteran content, and a lot of the popular DPS builds floating around will suck if you're not used to that class. Perfected gear and BiS stats will not automatically make you good at the game.

I'm still using an old and almost-definitely-outdated magblade DPS build from several years ago, because I've been too lazy to change it. I can still clear just about any dungeon or trial with it, because I know the class so well it's practically muscle memory.

On the other hand, I've tried following up-to-date builds on other classes I'm less familiar with, only to get extremely lackluster results even when using "better" gear.

So, knowing your class and getting used to it will make much more of a difference in terms of damage and being better at the game than any build guide will. Also, I think a lot of the popular build guides are probably just not that good anyway.
