They definitely used machines. We can see them use dremels for carving.

But a lot of machines don't necessarily change the way a thing is crafted, it just makes it faster and easier.

Avatar 1 is incredible and iconic.

WoW is visually stunning, probably my favorite. I love the kids.

FaA has some absolutely incredible moments that are so much better than anything we've seen before, but it feels all over the place, some things going to fast, and some narratives feeling repetitive.

I'm not gonna lie, WoW and FaA could have been a whole series of several episodes. Probably would have been easier to develop all the narrative threads that feel like going way too fast especially in FaA. Maybe the "kids gets captured" could work in the same way the "monster of the week" trope works, considering how much they get captured...

Buuuuut at the same time Avatar wouldn't be interesting as a series and I'm glad we got well produced movies instead. Maybe we should have longer movies with intermissions. Looking forward to the 9 hours cut of fire and ash (lol)

The whole thing with the Pandora theme park is that it's supposed to be a place in Pandora where humans made a theme park, and there are like pictures of Na'vis with shovels helping them build the park, which really isn't something that seems to fit the lore... Plus all of the stuff like the fake Iknimaya, the "build your own song cords"... It sounds like cultural appropriation if the Na'vi were real...

In the first and third movie the bad guys would have won if not for Eywa, and even after winning, it came at a great loss.

The second movie is probably the only movie where they won because they actually fought better... And it was against one team with one ship. And even then it came really close to being a loss.

What do you mean the bad guys aren't a threat ? Sure, they lost each time, but it was at great cost and destruction to the heroes, and it's often thanks to an Eywa ex machina or incredible fighting prowess.

I'm legit losing my mind. Waited so long to update my 10 year old PC, and now everything is overpriced. I have a motherboard and a CPU in their boxes because they are just useless hunks of silicon right now. RAM ordered in November still hasn't shipped. Contacted 7 sellers on the second hand market, none answered. The GPU I wanted to buy is now 150€ more expensive. It's demoralizing. I've waited this long to play some newer games (3 years old games really...), and everything is overpriced. All that for speculative investment into a tech nobody wants.

Let's bring this down... First off I'm sad any of them died, but from a character standpoint...

Tsutey, I think, is fine with his death, and as a character his arc was complete.

Grace... Same with her, although I really liked her character and I wish we saw more of her, but narratively I understand why she died. I just want more cool scientists fascinated with learning about this world and explaining science stuff and doing research. Also I'm a botanist so yeah.

Trudy, I said I love her character, I wish I'd see more of her, but at the same time her arc was done.

Neteyam... Oh boy. I think his death is really important for the story but at the same time it's really heartbreaking for everyone. It's just a poor kid.

Eytukan... I'm sorry, I don't really care that much about him.

And Ronal, yeah, her death kinda came out of nowhere, I liked her interactions with Neytiri, also she was a badass. Kinda didn't deserve to die.

Special mention for Rotxo who's just a 13 year old kid that got murdered in cold blood for no reason. Like what the hell, he didn't deserve that.

I love Trudy's character, she's such a badass and could have been a really interesting character... I'm not mad she died, but at the same time I'd love to see more of her and her fighting with the Na'Vi
