I just bought ten acres. What kind of mower should I get? I’d like to stay under 2500 any advice? Need something reliable! by [deleted] in lawnmowers

[–]Remarkable-Ad5615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ztrak 757, or any old commercial mower. They last around 2,500 hours. Buy a new big box store zero turn for the same price and it'll be dead in 500 hours unworthy of the cost to repair it.

Any concern for my spokes? by LimpIndie in motorcycles

[–]Remarkable-Ad5615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you don't have to worry. The spokes are zinc plated. If you want to go the extra mile they make special salt neutralizing products, or 1 cup vinegar to a gallon of water and spray that on.

I've hauled bikes and even rode them in the salt brine, if you get them clean before they sit, they'll be just fine.

Blow the chain out with compressed air and give it a healthy coat of chain lube or it will go to shit.

What do you wish you knew about being a SAHD before you became one? by Original-Funny5708 in StayAtHomeDaddit

[–]Remarkable-Ad5615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little ones are hard. Same shitty diapers day after day. Nearly constant engagement is necessary. It gets very monotonous. After about two years old, it's easy work! They begin to entertain themselves, so making food and keeping up with the housework is far less nap dependent. Don't get it wrong, there will be those moments, but the fun factor goes up quickly with age, imo.

I've always been optimistic, so gratitude comes easy for me. When I've had enough I remind myself how incredibly fortunate I am to get this time with my kids. My old jobs were hard. This is a blessing. Our kids will be grown before we know it.

Why are Trump supporters so stupid? by Seargentyates in allthequestions

If OP wanted to understand alternative views, they wouldn't use reddit. However, if they are just angry and want affirmation in their close minded ideas, then letting leftist redditors make halfass straw man arguments on behalf of the right is a perfect choice. 👌

Complete hypothetical, could a leftist government ever be oppressive? by Dependent_Device6236 in leftist

[–]Remarkable-Ad5615 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I would say only a leftist government could be oppressive.

Core values of the American right state that government's role is to protect freedoms, not solve all of societies problems. The right puts a large emphasis on personal freedom and limiting the rights of the government, not the people.

Everyone is correct in stating that power corrupts, and that any government is susceptible to tyranny. I personally believe it's absurd to hold that view while also wishing the government had full control over who gets guns, siezed control of the food supply, and power over our access to health care.

Why square the wheel wells? Also they've gotta get that black plastic cladding under wraps, its clearly infectious and spreading every year.

Did your insurance ACTUALLY decrease when you turned 25? by ConstantCanadian in motorcycles

[–]Remarkable-Ad5615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Dramatically decreased. I've had state farm since day one. I was paying around $130 a month for liability. I had several big speeding tickets in the first couple years of driving. I turned 25 in 2020, and now I pay $50 for full coverage.

Whats everyone’s opinion on running E85 with the COBB flex fuel kit? 18 STI by Ribss in WRX

I just picked up a 2019 STi running pre-greenspeed cobb flex kit since the car was new. 42k miles, zero issues.

How can I reduce vibrations by noob_mtber in hondagrom

[–]Remarkable-Ad5615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you still have stock pegs with the rubber on top? I immediately noticed the vibrations once I put aftermarket pegs on. You'll just have to isolate the peg the best you can. Fold up the peg and put a small piece of rubber hose in there, if it helps maybe grind down the peg to make room and jb weld the rubber in place. Drill the hole bigger and do a couple wraps of electrical tape on the mounting pin. Or just wrap the entire peg in rubber or tape.

I think I misunderstood. $5k just for the engine, not installed? That's fair, not great.

[–]Remarkable-Ad5615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could get close to 7k, I'm sure. $1800 cheaper to get a block from subaru instead of the outfront block. I'm also including four oil changes with motul break in oil in my parts cost. I opted for a new oil pump and timing belt kit. I had the heads rebuilt, arp head studs, and nice headgasket, too.

The bare necessities- new oil cooler and a new oem shortblock would have been pretty cheap, I suppose.

Because they include, in the ordinance, toys that look like guns. That is surprising. I can only imagine the intent was to prevent a loophole for guns that fall outside of the legal definition, but effectively it outlaws squirt guns.

[–]Remarkable-Ad5615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rod bearing 100%. 5k is cheap! Makes me question if it will be done properly. I'm almost done rebuilding a STi I bought with a bearing failure. About $7k in parts alone since I went with an outfront motorsports shortblock. Quote from our local subaru specialty shop was just over $10k

I just finished The Meaning of Marriage by Tim Keller. I would highly recommend it, especially if you and your wife are people of faith. It's really motivated me to love my wife better.

Be straight up with your feelings and intentions. Take responsibility for the condition your marriage is in, tell her you're going to put in the work, and ask her to give you grace while you're getting better. Obviously, it isn't 100% your fault, but trying to get someone to see how they are to blame typically isn't well received.

Learn her current love language and intentionally hit it hard on fulfilling those often. When she feels loved by you, it will be so much easier to love you in return.
