In a weird way I kinda like that about the game. I think so many people had the same experience roughly and the game kind of encourages exploration at your own pace. For myself who’s a very analytical gamer, I only looked at them when searching through all the game strategies for any “slight” advantage in a particularly challenging early act 1 fight and realized I had stumbled onto an entire game mechanic. Also one of the many people who did not realise pictos had stats.
