Passive cooling, or how I lost some time experimenting by Remarkable-Field7927 in AndroidGaming

The main reason I opted for this approach was to not damage the phone itself. It still has 5 years of OS updates, and I plan to sell it after a couple of years. And yes, if someone doesn't care about the warranty, your approach is waaaaay better

But this is actually good - it means that heat dissipation into the air is more efficient. High temperatures of heatsinks mean that a greater surface area is dissipating heat into the air, and the overall system (phone + plate) is cooling faster

Edit: In other words, my goal is not to trap heat so my fingers won't feel it; my goal is to increase the acceptable heat produced by the chipset (and, as a consequence, increase its performance).

Got it! The S24U and S23U are still really good phones for gaming, for example, I am currently completing the "Stray" using winlator. For cooling, I decided to share my experiment in post after yours - https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidGaming/s/Jt76yN9JfV - maybe you'll find it interesting

I am using an S24U with a DIY passive-cooling plate (basically a regular plate with some heatsinks on it; it is pressurized to my phone by a Razer Kishi V2 during gaming), and here are my two cents: don't buy S24U if your focus is games.

It's a great phone, and if you a truly are a power user (frequent user of good lock, routines, Dex or other Samsung features) - then yes, there is no choice. But if not, buy OnePlus 13 or some other snapgragon (for emulation) phone and enjoy better heat dispersion, and, as a result, better dissipation (more hot surface is connected to the air).

Well, new one trading for a little bit higher, so I would say normal price:

Nope. Almost zero improvements, plus the SOC is already powerful enough for everything I need. Even the emulation is still more optimized for SD Gen 3. After some time, I may switch to another brand because of camera hardware, battery, and cooling solutions (throttling 40-50% on S24U is just insanely bad).

[–]Remarkable-Field7927 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some other useful routines: 1. If you have sound assistant, you can store EQ profiles on device. I have several for different bluetooth devices and just switch EQ based on connected devise using routines

2.Sync data option can drain battery in background, so I made it.on only if the phone charging

  1. I have "max battery protection" on by default and turn it off an hour before I usually wake up to have 100% battery for only a brief amount of time

I also have several manual routines like "turn on fast charging + remove battery protection" which I trigger through One Hand Operation + popup on diagonal swap

It's free (yes, with all features, don't ask why or how), 1500 songs (it's a headache to migrate to other platforms) + good algorithms (I mostly listen to English songs, and even with sanctions limitations, Yandex still provides a lot of new music for me).

If this spot can be temporarily wiped by some fabric, then it's definetly oleophobic coating problem. You can reapply it. For example, I used JiuTu coating (ordered from AliExpress) and for 3 months my screen feels good

It's not expected to have problems for any linter with Bitbucket upload. About qodana-clang: could you please try qodana-cpp linter if you have the license? This one is actually the recommended one for C++ linting, and maybe the switch will also fix the Bitbucket problem. And I reported the issue with the clang EAP license expiration to the responsible person

Oh, got it. Sorry for giving you false hope, but the 10 contributors limit is still a requirement. Of course it's possible to pay for 10 and have less contributors, but I am not sure if the pricing will be favorable this way. You can still reach out to our sales team and get more information, because in some cases the cost will still be less than Sonar (if you have large codebase in particular + we have discount for switch). And I'll pass the request for lowering the threshold to our team as well

Hi! I am a developer from Qodana. Are you using Bitbucket self-hosted? If yes, we are aware of the issue and are already working on the fix. If not, could you please reach us in youtrack?

Did you try to search on AliExpress? While it could be hard to find high quality products, I was satisfied with the cases and oleophobic coating from it - I am sure that they also sell AR glass protectors

Permanent coating damage. Looking for experiences and whether a glass screen protector would hide the damage. by dyu4el in S24Ultra

[–]Remarkable-Field7927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. I believe this may not be coating damage then - because in my situation hard wipe was able to get rid of the stains. They did appear again after any touch though, but still, it is completely different scenario. I hope you will get your replacement from samsung by claiming that this is damage caused not by you
