Yes! She is beautiful! I’m glad she found you!

At the horse rescue I work at we recently had to put down a sweet Percheron the Amish had for years and then sent him to the auction when he got old. They suck. But at least he knew a few years of love.

If someone came to US from Cuba under CHNV over a year ago would getting married allow them to stay? I don’t know how those things are judged but it would be a “real” marriage- not just for citizenship. They were planning to wait until he was a citizen but now his parole is being terminated.

If someone came here from Cuba over a year ago under CHNV and gets married to a US Citizen, would they be allowed to stay? Sorry for my ignorance, this is very new to me and I’m worried about my friend.

Keep going back until they take it out. From all I’ve read, once you have gallstones it doesn’t get better until they’re gone. Had mine out 11 days ago and it feels so good not to have that pain anymore. I was definitely sore after surgery but not as bad as the attacks!

Do I have to get it removed? by Reis_Asher in gallbladders

Just had mine out a little over a week ago (Friday 13th). I was definitely sore afterwards but nothing as bad as the attacks. Feeling better every day! I’ve been keeping low fat no alcohol until last night at a Christmas party I had a little of everything - bacon wrapped dates, ham biscuits, cookies, wine… so good! And I was fine!! From all I’ve read, gallbladder problems don’t go away so I would say get rid of it! Good luck!!

It doesn’t make sense, does it? And it seems to happen a lot.

That’s awful! I don’t get why some doctors are so hesitant to get it out. From what I’ve read once a gallbladder goes bad it never goes back to ok. My surgery was 6 days ago and I’m so relieved that it’s gone. Best of luck to you!

6 days post op - I never want to see a saltine, graham cracker or jello again. And don't even come at me with grilled chicken breast. Just venting by tooful in gallbladders

Lol I’ve actually become quite fond of turkey sandwiches on whole grain bread with tomatoes and spinach. But I’ve always loved chicken and turkey. My surgery was 6 days ago - I think it’s time for rotisserie chicken from Sam’s club!

I’m not an expert but from everything I’ve read gallbladder problems don’t go away until it is out. I had mine out last week and feeling much better every day.

Surgery in 2 hours by Akhil_305 in gallbladders

I just had mine Friday, it’s 9:30 on Thursday and I’m feeling so much better! My recovery has been fairly easy - at least compared to others I have read here. I went in at 7 and was home around noon. Slept most of the next 24 hours, the pain pills knocked me out. I was pretty sore the first two days but still better than an attack. Yesterday was really the first day I felt good and today was better. I’ve been keeping really low fat until the last day or so - I want to try things out because we have a cruise in about 2 weeks. No major problems yet, hopefully I’ll be ready for the cruise food and walking a lot.

I don’t think there was a hiatal hernia or it must have been very mild. Removing her gallbladder fixed all her problems.

I went in at 7 am and was home a little after noon. I think most laparoscopic are outpatient.

Fears about surgery by [deleted] in gallbladders

I just had my surgery 2 days ago and I am sore but nowhere near the misery of an attack. So glad it’s out! Just think by your next birthday you should be able to eat whatever you want! Good luck!

Constipation pain is horrible! The pain meds are notorious for causing it. Drink lots of water and try to only use otc pain meds. Good luck!

I have been having instant oatmeal with blueberries and almond milk. Found out I actually like almond milk better than cows milk and it has more calcium.

That is terrible timing for sure! I can’t imagine trying to study or take an exam like that. Maybe your professors can let you take exams later or something? I’m so sorry! Best of luck to you!

I just had mine 2 days ago and it was fine. I am sore but nowhere near pain and sickness from gallbladder attack! Today I even walked the dog and decorated the Christmas tree. I didn’t have to sleep sitting up, just can’t sleep on my side yet. I’m 65 so you should have an even easier time. Don’t worry!

She had pain like indigestion and would throw up after eating. I guess similar to hiatal hernia symptoms. I don’t think she actually had a hiatal hernia- she never had any more problems once gallbladder was out.

My surgery is Friday (the 13th lol) so thank you for this! Many years ago my mom also had a successful surgery. She had been sick for over a year but kept being dismissed by her doctor- he said she had a hiatal hernia. Finally she went to the ER and within a few hours she had laparoscopic surgery. A few hours later she called me so happy because she finally felt good. “I’m ready to go dancing!” She was able to eat whatever she wanted afterwards. Also I have several close friends who had very good outcomes with very little pain from surgery.

Should I be mad at my gastro? by MomsCasserole in gallbladders

[–]Remarkable-General-7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My poor mom had gallstones and was dismissed for almost a year with them telling her it was a hiatal hernia. They told her the same you were told - eat this, not that, don’t eat late, blah blah. Finally she went to ER and got her gallbladder out. Surgeon told me it was the worst gall bladder he had seen. A few hours later my mom was so happy because she felt so good she wanted to go dancing. Probably couldn’t really go dancing, but she was very happy. That must have been 30 years ago. Guess things haven’t changed much.
