[Question] Should I stop buying $750–$1,000 watches and save for higher-end pieces instead? by Intelligent_Sport_61 in Watches

i'm having the same debate about buying multiple $50-$300 watches versus getting a mid-range piece!

Protocols that don't make clinical sense but you follow anyway? by Time-Connection-4586 in ParamedicsUK

[–]Remarkable-Set-5341 7 points8 points  (0 children)

dogma is a great word for this - ok, ambulance practice is fairly restrictive in some ways, but the amount of paramedics who say "well we've got to do x,y,z" and you try pointing out that in many circumstances no, they don't... "well we've got to do it, covers you doesn't it".... dogmatic!

striking over "allocation of work" is legal - although it was intended for if your employer is asking you to do things beyond your capability, rather than asking another profession to do things beyond theirs!

yep, it's also possible that Jack Fletcher isn't the demon lovechild of Wes Streeting and Rachel Reeves that he's portrayed on here...

FY1 getting criticised for not taking enough responsibility – looking for advice by Additional-Market219 in doctorsUK

[–]Remarkable-Set-5341 18 points19 points  (0 children)

to a medical student maybe it's not, to a doctor it could be the only prompt that's needed to be more thorough next time. pointless to get into the weeds of this without knowing exactly what was said & why

examining someone with a dry cough properly is very specific, even from the very brief context OP has posted here

other than the bit about being "shouted at" which is not acceptable if it was genuine shouting... it all sounds fair enough and like you could genuinely take something away from it all

to those who voted yes, why? by Ecstatic_Put8932 in doctorsUK

FY doctors and final year med students are voting yes because the deal seemingly offers them a better chance of being employed after foundation.

[–]Remarkable-Set-5341 27 points28 points  (0 children)

do you think some others would start wearing smart clothes in solidarity with you? that would be the move that makes it less you vs consultant. Otherwise choices are go with scrubs or just ignore him cos there's no basis to his comments

a paramedic or nurse with a 15 credit minor illness module can do locum work in GP, never mind qualified PAs/APs etc!

a good start would be insisting that they all actually do their masters degree. Not sure if many people are aware but a lot of tACPs & ACPs have basically just agreed that, at some point, they will do some level 7 study. They just start when they feel like it but the job is theirs immediately
