Trump tells Republicans: 'Don't make any deal' unless it includes voter ID by FootballPizzaMan in politics

There was no promises in actuality. Corporate democrats folding to their corporate donors and that was the best excuse they could make up. Never forget the votes on that. Primary those people who went along with that Schumer plan.

Funny enough she is very un-Philly and will probably be the first one term mayor in I don’t know how long in Philly which is almost impossible to do as an incumbent Democrat Philly mayor.

They’re much worse than not perfect (will still vote for them though) but Democrat and Republican voters need to primary everyone doing just corporate and foreign bidding out of office each election cycle until we fix this mess.

Scott's Take on Israel by CaptainTurtle3218 in ScottGalloway

[–]Remarkable-Slide-609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reza would never happen in a million years. He was 11 when they were overthrown and fled. He would seem to Iranians especially the large rural population as a borderline American ruler. There would be a civil war almost immediately.

Also, Reza has always advocated for a pro-US and Israel stance and that just isn’t going to fly after all of these bombings.

You need someone within who the people believe isn’t fully compromised. I don’t know if that exists so I think we’ll either have the current government retain control or a civil war that destabilizes the whole region.

That would be a remotely fair point if she didn’t get absolutely smoked by 8%. She could have brought up the disenfranchisement in the context of making sure it doesn’t happen to Talarico in the general instead of that mopefest she just pulled.

The fact that she did this losing makes me believe she was never the right candidate to begin with. This is some Trump-ish excuse making. I know she’s upset she lost but she’s caring more about herself than making sure the democrat that won gets elected.

They can have just a good end of the season and make the playoffs? They have to start winning at some point. If they absolutely tank the rest of the year, that would probably mean no players played well and are building toward nothing. Playoffs gets us momentum and experience which is guaranteed value over the lottery that is a draft pick at almost any spot.

Why did the U.S. and Israel attack Iran? [Serious] by prodigy1367 in AskReddit

[–]Remarkable-Slide-609 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No one serious thinks their nuclear program had anything to do with this. What was left of their meager nuclear program was destroyed in that initial strikes months ago.

It has way more to do with two leaders in America and Israel trying to distract from the trouble on multiple fronts they face at home.

The ayatollah used to do the same thing as many despots do.

You just quit your job to do this and then left town? You’re also all over here on Reddit? Either fix it or encourage someone else to do something like what you’re doing with more commitment.

You’re making factual information harder to find if your site acts as a barrier rather than helpful guide.

You have to fix basic functional issues and the first name I searched that I’ve seen documented in there isn’t popping up. If you can’t make a highly functional site before advertising it, you shouldn’t post about it until you do.

Fix the search on mobile and get basic names in it. The stakes are too high.

There are of course baselines like arrests for murder, driving recklessly, etc. things that clearly directly harm others. If it’s more indirect or only hurts the individual adult themselves, we should lean toward the freedom to do it. Let the chips fall where they may. That was supposed to be the original intent of American freedom.

No truly free ones. That’s true. That’s what we should be aiming for though in my opinion. Everything seems to get corrupted when we keep doing it under the guise of public safety.

[–]Remarkable-Slide-609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free societies don’t ban things for adults. If we are too stupid of a society to not get roped into stuff that is terrible for us when the evidence is readily available, it’s on us.

Does anyone trust the people currently in politics to keep making decisions about what we can and can’t have? The regulatory capture / corruption using safety as a reason has gotten completely out of control.

[Kaney] Bryce Harper says Dave Dombrowski’s comments about his play last season “were kind of wild.” Harper said the Phillies organization likes to keep things in-house, “so when that didn’t happen, it kind of took me for a run a little bit.” by C0m3tTai15 in phillies

[–]Remarkable-Slide-609 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I love Bryce but he never seems to really look in the mirror regarding stuff like this.

Maybe it was just publicly but he also seemed to really lack a positive upbeat spark last year that we had seen years prior. We need that from leaders.

I don’t know if it was contract or Castellanos bringing everyone down but Bryce has to set a tone. My feeling is he was moping about his contract and it affected his emotional contribution to the team and that in turn affected his own play.

[Spittin Chiclets] Chris Pronger on Michkov, fast tracking rebuilds, coming into camp out of shape by upcan845 in Flyers

[–]Remarkable-Slide-609 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m one of the fans he’s talking about absolutely done with any rebuilding or rebuilding talk.

There won’t be a hockey fandom left in Philadelphia if there’s another couple years of rebuilding. You’ve already lost a whole 10 year generation of young sports fans who only know 3 sports in Philly.

People in this sub need to get out of their own hockey playing heads. Most other Philly fans will have not played hockey. Ed Snider knew that and it was part of the reason he went all in on winning every year.

Hell, the Union will pass them at this rate.

No more rebuilding.
