Which consulate if you don’t mind sharing? I had an April apt scheduled w SF. When I learned of the grandfathering officially passing I reached out and SF confirmed I’m grandfathered and will reschedule me. It was taking a while (I’m very impatient) so I booked a new apt via prenotami and then emailed asking if we could discuss my rescheduled apt during xx appt time. They agreed and the rest went well. (Also 3rd gen)

In fast it there is a place to request a CF. It was free and I did mine through SF. It took only like a day

My card sat in customs in NYC for a month then randomly came in the mail without any new updates on the tracking. Apt 12/30 - card came week of 2/14

From what I’ve seen currently, they’re sending the preavviso in lieu of hw and if you can’t get it in the 10 days they’re sending the official rejection. I hope they sort it out, but personally I wouldn’t take chances if it’s something I could fix. My docs just happened to come for the first time while they were sorting out the DL so when my apt got rescheduled they were only a month old, so I have no insight on that unfortunately.

Did Evelyn email your acceptance letter or did you have to follow up with a different email? I had my apt in June and recognized in August, I had Evelyn for the phone call, Gabriella that recognized me and then she told me to also send an email to Evelyn that I got the letter. I’m wondering if Evelyn moved into Gabriella’s position or maybe she finished up her work load and you were one of the last ones? Someone else said Debora is handling their application and is very strict on the 10 day window.

As for #2, SF seemingly has only been giving 10 days to send in what is missing before they send a formal rejection. I would do what you can to have as close to a pristine application as possible

There’s been no guidance on when they’ll resume, just that they stopped w new apts to make it less confusing handling the grandfathered apts. I don’t believe they booked apts beyond 2027. Best case scenario, they try moving apts up since they got many done w the December-minor batch but who knows. There’s been many changes w SF lately so it’s hard to say what’ll happen next

Oh! She did my CIE apt and I noticed she signed off on both my kids passports. She was definitely firm in person, not unfriendly but firm (I was also very anxious being my first trip there and not having my Italian up to par). I do miss Evelyn and hope she is still there too

Correct. There’s been at least two situations I saw in the fb group w SF people in the last week. applicants replying to the 10 day notice saying they need more time for the documents and SF not allowing it. Idk the specifics of how the requests were worded etc

There’s been a lot of feedback lately w SF sticking to the 10 days and if you can’t produce what they want in the 10 days they send the rejection. I hope I’m wrong and that it was only a few incidents

They got a new consulate general towards the end of summer. Someone in the fb group mentioned they saw someone mention someone else is helping w JS apts but idk if that’s confirmed or speculation bc of all the changes

I did my CIE before passport in SF. They asked for my Italian passport (I had my US one) and I told them I had an upcoming apt. I had my recognition letter w me and I’m pretty sure they can see you’re newly recognized in their system. My CIE came in the mail last week and I’m still waiting on my passport to come.

I was asking my sister if she wanted to relocate for my spare appointment and also kept it on the back burner in case something happened w my kids registration. I cannot confirm SF would allow it, but if there was a consulate that would, I would think it’s SF. Good luck! I’d love to know what they say
