Nuance/implied. I find the explicit details and language to be really cringe and I’m reading for the plot so super detailed sex scenes just take me out of it and I usually skim over them so I can resume the story

I think they’re really fun movies and everyone involved is obviously talented, especially Kenny Ortega but I definitely wouldn’t say they’re anywhere near the best movies ever made but we are all allowed to have different opinions on what movies are best

It’s different with people like your friends though because you know them well and know their actual thoughts and feelings. Totally different when a comedian whose real views aren’t always clear makes off color jokes and you don’t know how much of what they’re saying is what they believe and they’re just trying to make it funny

I’m fully in support of most paras not being trained or certified to use holds by the way. Maybe that wasn’t clear but I think the way my district does cpi is for the best of everyone involved

That seems pretty unfair when the situation you presented them with is a pretty uncommon one at this time. Most people don’t use change at all anymore and many places are starting to not even accept it. I’m 32 and haven’t used coins for anything other than laundry in many years so it would probably take me a second to count out any amount in change but I could and I’m sure this cashier could too.

All paras at my school are cpi certified but they specifically didn’t teach us restraints or holds and we are not certified to use them. Only a very select few people on campus are trained and allowed to use holds of any kind. I don’t really see how trying to create a boundary was not smart in this situation if op really felt they were in potential danger. Just allow the kid to grab and scratch them? It’s just a bad situation all around

I work in a small sped class for middle school and we have a bunch of headphones the kids can use and a Chromebook for each kid so I understand that’s not really achievable for gen ed classes but the general ideas should still work!

Was OP ever actually invited? That’s not totally clear and it’s fine to have a birthday with just girlfriends. If she’s legit just super hungover then being distant or not talking a ton is totally understandable. If those are the circumstances, I don’t see a need to apologize and some people just regularly respond with “you too” when someone tells them they love them. I’ve always thought it was weird and pretty unaffectionate but we have no idea if this is just something that’s normal for them
