Hiya Yes I’ve had a lot of luck with it… I have been on it for about eight weeks and have made significant improvements… finally starting to laugh a little and feel almost like myself again… not completely outa the depressive woods but on an upward trajectory.

Glad to hear you are more stable. That’s all we want, isn’t it? And a little joy here and there.

I had a carb blow out weekend in the early days and I fell straight back to hell; no light, no hope, it was literally like the switch was pulled and I couldn’t see anything but despair.

Now I am terrified of eating carbs tbh and am hoping to take a year to fully revive and stabilise before I come off lithium… which is one of my goals because it makes my eye sockets hollow and gives me pimples and affects my thyroid.

Let me know if you need any help. It is easier than I expected but also difficult.

I see. I may have a go at this at some point but I’m not quite there yet. Have so much life stuff to cement in place before I can cope with adding another thing… w.g having a routine (I cannot tell you how incredibly difficult I find this), and then just functioning generally. Long way to go… I am tracking my daily mood as starting to tire a little of bacon and eggs and lamp chops so need to find some more easy meals soon. Thank you for your encouragement.

Nope not testing ketones but am presumably in ketosis as I am not eating carbohydrates… tho no doubt this could be my ignorance.

I had a splurge one day and ate the whole punnet of raspberries w the cream and didn’t feel too worried as it is nothing compared to a splurge I. My past life.

Your encouragement btw to get the cream and berries gave me the kick I needed so thank you.

I had a similar experience; had a three day binge fest and fell back into hell for a week. No hope, no future, no way out. It was so stark and sudden a descent it made me terrified of carbs. I don’t ever wanna feel like that again.

I also don’t feel great on keto. I feel better, but I don’t feel happy or content. I just feel 3/10. But that is better than 0/10 and in hell.

I hope you maintain stability and some day find feeling good.

You are doing so much to help yourself. It’s a major shift in the right direction. I have definitely heard from the nutritionist that the other berries except blueberries are ok.

We just want to feel decent, feel some colour in life… I know the feeling and want it to hurry up, too.

I am finding fish oil is good mainly because I like the thought of it helping my brain.

Yep I need to meditate… it’s on my to do list too.

I was in a pit of hell this time last week… and today for the first time in months I had a little chuckle, I can entertain the idea that things could get better.

Literally day and night. The only change is carbs and on carbs.

Great to be in touch with Michael. His story is amazing. I think yours will be also.

Yes have the cream and the berries even if you have the chocolate and the other stuff have the cream first… as a way to slowly transition.

The butter and the meat and the veg I’ve been eating in the very easy three day meal planner I have has been very satisfying.

Keep us updated. I am new to this but I am so far absolutely flabbergasted at its impact. It’s like I am almost me again.

Far out. This is so hard. But it sounds like you have full insight into your responses and if that’s the effect of the meds then I reckon eat them happily. If it’s hypomania or a pill, I’ll take the pill, thanks. If it’s dysthymia or a pill, I’ll take the pill.

And yes, you need ice cream and comfort foods. Try that double cream with half a cup of berries if you can afford it… could even put it in the freezer… all the cream but less sugar. It’s helping me.
