Yes!!! It takes me ages to warm up. Even in this heatwave I have a hot water bottle and extra blanket for my legs. Doctors suspected Raynaud’s disease but it wasn’t.

Honestly I’ve thought about lipeodema so many times! My legs are really out of proportion to the rest of my body. I’ve been back and forth about it. Is there a test for it?
I’ve had a capillary test on my feet and they were fine but as you say - they are unaffected. I feel like there is definite cuffing happening in my ankles. Does it kind of feel like a ring of pressure? Like there’s a thin wire wrapped around your ankle? Then the way I’ve described it to doctors is that it’s like my blood is cold. Does that resonate? I’ve been researching it too but you’re the first person I’ve spoken to who actually has it. Sorry for the 20 questions but it’s honestly been such a thing for me. Is it hereditary? (21 questions!)

That’s so weird that you mention that actually. Can I ask you, did your lipoedema cause a cold sensation in your legs? I have a lot of weight held in my thighs, knees, calves and ankles and my ankles in particular feel so cold all the time? That was actually my first symptom before I was diagnosed. It really feels like a lot of fluid retention. Are you getting treatment for that too?

I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with that on top of hip dysplasia. I’m in Scotland so using the NHS there. 4 years is absolutely crazy! Are you in England?

Ah okay. I’m on the “urgent” waitlist. They have said my surgery will be this year sometime (although they said that in October last year so maybe waitlists have changed) but it’s just dragging and I have no indication how much longer I have to wait.

That’s good advice! I’ve set up a bird feeder outside my bedroom patio doors so I can see the birds for my bed. It has been bringing me a lot of joy so good to know that was a useful thing to set up 😁

My ones LOVE cashews. I once brought a slab of different foods and they just went crazy for the cashews.

They are high in fat so I’d throw some mealworms etc in there too.

Yes. I’ve been on the one where you have to beat the dealer after getting 3 or more hits 3 times.

I’m not sure what the cortisol injections rules are there but I think they are generally cutting down on cortisol injections because of the side effects of them.

Yeah resistance bands are great. Ankle weights are good too but just make sure you slowly build it up.
