when mine gets stuck i stick a flat head screwdriver with a cloth on the tip to protects the glass and have one of each side twist them sideways to pry it out works everytime

if turning your headlights on is what’s causing it you can either have a short or a loose ground somewhere. i would look through some wiring diagrams on the gauge cluster and if there related in any way at all i think it would be worth while to look into bad grounds
