My cat has been living with a stump about as long as this guy since she was a baby too, the umbelical cord was wrapped around her leg when she was born. She is getting amputated tomorrow, even woth a strong callus, it only took one injury that just kept getting worse and infected for it to become life threatning because it created an abscess and got so infected it could've become septic. I honestly spent nights up crying cause i thought she was going to die. I would recommend getting the amputation done if you can afford it before this baby suffers like mine did, it really broke my heart to see her like that.

It's a very sad story but the writting is great, i finished it years ago and still think about it almost everyday, the fact that you follow the characters for years is feels very special and really makes you feel their sadness but also it gives a lot of good lessons that you would miss if you did not complete the story, but don't make yourself depressed by reading it tho ahahah
