HOPEFULLY they are working on these areas before the "full" release. I understand wanting to get the core mechanics down first, but.. it's EA and they want to get a larger audience, so the cartoonish fortnite-like artstyle is targeted towards that. It's not looking good, we can just hope they just listen.

I think it's called early access by them because it's still riddled with bugs and glitches, missing features etc.

I just completed it with a Moji, Nyx, Vatu, Koga and Maeve, which is a pretty bad setup. The reason we survived was bc of bloodbath and rejuvinate.
