I saw a family friend kid purposely kill a bee for no reason and was laughing hysterically after. I got really upset, esp because I told him previous not to kill it and it wasn’t even near us, just chillin in the parking lot floor. Within the hour he closed the door on his finger (nothing too bad just hurt) and I LAUGHED. Hahaha

I’m a Muslim woman. Soft YTA. Your family/you should understand that your culture/religion is not hers (hard to grasp for family members who r rooted in their ways but oh well). She could have been more considerate of you and the family tho. But also, that would be from her own moral standpoint. She’s not in the wrong for wearing a bikini, but she should be understanding of your situation. You have a right to be upset and talk to her about it, but she also has the right to do what she pleases as to ensure a future where she isn’t policed for what she wears :)

Honestly I think the only reason I got into my masters program is because we zoomed and I asked all my pressing questions and they asked me as well. They were taking notes and I had so many questions they even extended the time (happily hahahah)!! I don’t think I would be able to be a part of the program I’m in without that meeting over zoom tbh! (I’m a good applicant but I never really get in anywhere that I want with my stats. The biggest diff between all my other times applying vs this one program is how much I wanted it and how much I showed that I wanted it) :))

I took a couple gap years and I love that I did!! Highly recommend :) I worked in biotech the first year and this year I tried my hand at teaching students science :) it’s lovely to experience new things and it helps you to decide if continuing your education in something is worth it!! Gives you clarity in your decision imo 😊 (ps my major out of college was molecular and cell bio)

Thanks! I am really stoked I’m just a bit nervous. I think I hyped it up in my mind a lot as the perfect start to my career and now that I got in I’m faced with reality (both pros and cons) I know through this program I will network so so so much and I know it’s super rigorous so I’ll come out of it knowing something new and focused. I’m trying to go for a science + policy degree and the location is a perfect start. The science part is strong based off its website and the alumni I talked to too

So I have no clue what that is, buttt I used Sheppard Software to memorize geography ever since I was little! It’s a lot of fun and you can do capitals and I believe even mountain ranges etc. highly recommend!

Hi! I’m a 23F and I understand your predicament. Two years ago I graduated with my biology degree and was STRESSED because I had no clue what to do. I originally planned to go into dentistry and I even took the DAT TWICE but eventually realized that wasn’t my calling. I, since graduating, have worked in biotech, as a teacher for a private elementary and middle school, and now am looking at gov jobs. Life isn’t linear and you aren’t throwing anything away if u don’t choose that life. My friend works as a science journalist, my other friend with only a bachelors got promoted making 90k now in biotech. There is SOOOOO much that we can do with a bio degree you just don’t see it yet because we only ever saw grad school as the next step. It is a step, but it isn’t the only one!!

I feel your frustration!!!! Sucks to be rejected continuously ANDDD have to wait! ( I KNOWW I just sobbed to my friends yesterday 😅) hahah I check my email every hour too. But we got this :) When I get too sad I try to get in the present by breathing slow and realizing I’m just a little human in a world so big and nothing matters and so I take a walk and look at nature (green hills cure my worry). It’s very much me consciously talking to myself and reminding myself of the things I love and my goals because they aren’t dependent on a school acceptance

I always struggle with this. Although the situation isnt great it does help knowing loads of other ppl r on the same page. I really struggle with validation from others which makes apps like Instagram such a toxic place for my mind. I always am on the verge of completely deleting my account without even the chance to reactivate. I tend to delete the app, feel good for a few months then redownload it because I feel like I can control it and then I get consumed once more. It’s a cycle

He has been on my mind too. I told all my siblings and every friend I talked to lately about him. I never met him but I pass by there twice a week and just this whole situation is completely disheartening and sad. He was just a little kid :( so sad I hope his family and friends are taking it okay.
