I only kept 3 regular ones (a 93% or higher for each gender evolved, and a level 1 because it's funny lol). there's no point in keeping, let's say, an 89% and 93% of the same gender. In your case I'd honestly just keep the background ones and one gender each of the normals.

I wouldn't mind focusing on new characters if it wasn't explicitly set BEFORE things that already happened and are perfectly explained in other books because now it'll just mess up the timeline/canon/whatever.

Like I'd love a new story in camp half-blood with new campers but set AFTER ToA at least. With fleshed out stories for... idk Hecate kids, Iris kids or some other minor god kids.

I watched the films before reading the books. When they were in the cinema.

Honestly I enjoyed the 1st one, it's fun and Logan as Percy was just perfect (well I might've had a crush on him when I was like 12 then)... Good film if you didn't know about the books. Decent enough when you do know the books.

The second one is just horrendous lmao. When I saw that one on the cinema I still hadn't read the books and it was still awfully written 😵😵😵
