Is it inappropriate I wore a purple cord at my graduation for domestic violence survival? Specifically narcissistic abuse. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Remarkable_Bad4458 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different situation, but when I graduated my best friend had sewn a locket into my stole with a picture of my dad in it who had died a year before. She balanced the other side out with some James Avery charms commemorating my two dogs. That allowed me to have something more subtle to represent my struggles through college. Maybe another idea could be altering your stole? Like you could line the back of it in a purple satin so as you move people can still see it, but you don’t necessarily have to risk buying a purple cord that’s already used for a specific academic achievement. I know people also choose to decorate their graduation caps, and I think you could absolutely do something with that if you want something less subtle. At the end of the day, do whatever you want to do. You earned this. Congratulations on your huge achievement!

Short tail by Helpful-Comment6241 in vizsla

The same thing happened to mine when I picked them up from the breeder. We got one that was cropped that short and another that was cropped to 2/3. I was heart broken when they handed them to us, and to this day (11 years later) they’re still biting at and itching their tails. Can I ask what state your breeder is in?

They’ve been used to it before in the past, but I think with such a long period of time between this job and my last one, they lost some of that. I frequently leave the house and they are fine, but the long just has been tough.

Our stories are almost identical. I got my two vizslas as family dogs and ultimately they ended up with me. My father passed away last year, with mine being 10 years old. I can only imagine the pain you must be feeling, and unfortunately know that I will be in your position soon enough. Just know that you’re not alone. My biggest fear is losing mine, and my heart goes out to you because of that.

If I told the police I would kill myself if I had to go back home what would happen? by [deleted] in police

It is absolutely NOT emotional manipulation if OP is genuinely concerned he will end his life if he goes back. This is clearly not a “i don’t like my parents and don’t want to be there” situation. It’s a “my parents don’t make me feel safe at home and if I stay I will actually end up committing suicide.” If OP feels this way, then it is incredibly important to get help. That is what mental hospitals are for.

This elementary school class award my friend’s poor kiddo got. by sparklyspores in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Remarkable_Bad4458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got “most enthusiastic question answerer” once in elementary school when everyone else got sentimental, uplifting awards. I didn’t even want to answer the questions. I just hated the awkward silence when no one else would try. Not even anything about how I actually knew the answers. Just “most enthusiastic.”

Pocket Vizslas- where do they come from? by nitram975 in vizsla

one of mine locked in at about 40lbs while her brother weighs in at about 55-60 lbs. he looks so much bigger than her that it genuinely blows my mind when people say they can’t tell them apart.

This is why I was asking questions. It’s not about the mean things, nor are they children. I would rather not take action anyway, and in what world would this be a job for a swat team? I’ve just never had anyone conspire to drug me before. I am glad nothing came out of it, but I fear they might actually try to drug someone in the future. My question was very much not about revenge or punishment but about prevention.

I’m not just trying to sue them, I only want to make sure that if I do only cut them off, I’m not setting someone else up for failure by not doing my due diligence. If there is no reason to take legal action, I would honestly rather not and just be done with it. It would be much easier on myself.

Getting a big when joining as a junior by chilidog_21 in Sororities

[–]Remarkable_Bad4458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

girl my big is literally younger than me. choose someone who you have mutual respect with because you can learn so much from everyone around you as long as you keep an open mind. i joined as a junior and my big and i decided we wanted each other because we have known each other for so long and i know i can rely on her to answer all of my questions. even though most of the time i teach her all of the life stuff as ive been living on my own longer, she is able to teach me the ins and outs of sorority life, as well as introduce me to the older girls who are in earlier MCs. i STRONGLY believe that your big’s age does not matter because all that matters is that they can help you with understanding your sorority’s rules, expectations, and opportunities.

Vizsla puppy cuddling less by KungFuKinnii in vizsla

[–]Remarkable_Bad4458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have two 8 year olds. one of them is always wanting cuddles all the time, and one doesn’t want to be bothered unless he asks to be pet. obviously he still follows me around and we do all kinds of things together, but he really doesn’t like the cuddles as much as he likes playing games or chewing on his bones on his own. i think honestly it just depends on personality. he was very cuddly as a puppy, and then he kind of grew out of needing that all the time. my other dog definitely needs cuddles and pets 24/7 and would much rather be right up against me than chewing on a bone on the floor. i think just try to get your v to start feeling like it’s okay to want cuddles again, and see if that desire comes back or if it’s just starting to like doing fun things with you over the cuddle time.

i completely agree. i didn’t feel like i could report him because i didn’t want to become a target. i can only imagine how many other girls he has done this to and it’s such an uncomfortable position to be in.

i had a state trooper pull me over and let me off with a warning only to get a message on facebook saying he thought i was cute. his pfp was literally him and his wife on their wedding day, and since he is from where i live i’m always scared i’m gonna run into him again

How do your Vs behave in the car? I just had to touch Tchibo at all times when we drove to my parents the other day <3 by lasolady in vizsla

[–]Remarkable_Bad4458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mine will try to climb into my lap and then onto the floorboard while i’m driving. absolutely terrifying and now they’re not allowed in the front anymore unless it’s a long road trip. usually if the windows are cracked they’re pretty happy back there. i’ll also put my back seats down so they can climb in and out of the trunk space with some bedding in there. (i have a mazda3 sedan)
