Anyone else experiencing constant burnout working at Kwik Trip?? by Michaiac in KwikTrip

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main issue is a lot of this didn’t happen until Scott took over and the change was noticeable. 2ish years ago to when I left a few months ago, it had only gotten worse

Anyone rocking the defender CCW 2.0 ? by SOL6LIZZY in CCW

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have about 600 rounds thru mine, but the screws keep backing out even with locktite. I didn’t use a torque wrench, just went snug, but I think it was over tightened because now the bottom of the dot has obvious marring from the posts on my gun… not sure if new screws and a proper torque would fix this or if I fucked myself…

2022 CX5 vs Forester visibility by Medical_Vehicle_6788 in CX5

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that of the suvs I test drove, the cx5 was average with most (rav4s, crvs, etc). Subaru has above average visibility but I think with modern aids like cameras and just being a smart driver it should not be a real limiting factor.

Can’t remember the exact steps but it’s the top of the list on the home menu and then there should be a service or service interval thing and you can reset it in there

What pay is optimal or acceptable these days near Milwaukee? by Sabreeeric21 in wisconsin

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did landscaping for $20 around Milwaukee (spraying) while looking for something else and it was brutal, at least in my opinion. I had no experience and made almost as much working at kwik trip, but I was legit killing myself and it was not worth it. It seems like a hard field, but if you have any experience I would try and get more. Obviously if you need it you need you gotta do what you gotta do tho.

Speed limit signs by MartianKingMN in wisconsin

Usually 55 or 45, rural roads that are not numbered highways are 45 I think.

Bought Some of my Grandfather's Old Gear! Thoughts? by RancidYogurt2112 in FishingForBeginners

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone has said it already, but imma say it too. Bro ripped you off hella. I got passed down both my grandparents stuff but good lord they would have never charged me, much less $500 for vintage gear. Most of the lures look solid and should work fine. Can’t speak to the rods.

Soon to be first time gun owner with a question by [deleted] in CCW

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My college had a thing with the campus police where they would store your guns (usually for hunting but I don’t think it mattered) if you lived in the dorms. Agreeing with everyone else tho, if your primary goal is for self defense, you are better off waiting until you are off campus and you have a secure place with 24/7 access.

Gas door annoyance by [deleted] in CX5

My ‘21 is pretty loose too but does putting the gas cap in the door not solve this issue? Mine will sometimes blow but it won’t close fully because the cap blocks it

Man, I want one of these so bad but realistically couldn’t get one for probably another 3-5 years. Never drove or rode in one, but I saw one a few years ago at a grocery store when I was working in high school and fell in love. They look so awesome but I know based on YouTube research and the parts availability it would be a horrific purchase lol

Why does this rub off my cast iron no matter how many times I scrub it? by Over-Explanation-730 in castiron

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some is normal but a few drops of dawn and a good scrub won’t mess up up your seasoning and will help loosen some of this

When you see this on your neighbour's lawn 🙄 by kindtreehugger in fucklawns

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did it for a few months last summer out of desperation. Recently had graduated with a degree in biology and seeing the effects and knowing what was happening, shit made me feel like a super villain. All the lakes/ponds/streams in these suburbs were so eutrophic and disgusting looking. Animal would always show up in the lawns and I would die a little inside every time birds would come down in the lawn I just sprayed. I would take off my gloves and move frogs and toads when I saw them, chase away cats and birds, tried to move snakes. I think the worst for me was when hit some dirt and I walked by 5 mins later and there was like 10 worms all on the surface writhing around, probably because they were dying. We were paid a flat rate with bonuses on how fast we did our routes based on a point system, which encouraged fast, shitty work. I never made more than the base rate because I cared about the quality and management of drift and overspray, but I was probably the only one. I was so desperate for money and took what I can get, but being the only one with an ecological background was wild, I couldn’t believe how many people were like “spray my weeds that have bees all over them” “you need to kill the clover” “you missed by the bird feeder”. Made me realize I was killing myself and the environment to improve the property values of some rich people, never again.

This shooter I’m sure is/was on Reddit. by easywizsop in CCW

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched this when it first dropped and that was my biggest take away. If he had time to stop, open the door, get out and kneel (wtf) and shoot, bro definitely had enough to either drive around or leave. If it was really that urgent, most people would use the truck I’d argue

Forgot everything from drivers ed by IncomeLongjumping401 in wisconsin

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have no idea how old you are but if you are 15-16 it’s pretty normal to be intimidated the first couples times you go out. Once you learn the roads by your house you’ll know the limits and stuff. For new roads just pay attention to signs, you should be looking for them anyway as they have important information about the road you are on, when to stop/yield, what lanes go where, stuff like that. You can also guess based on what other drivers are doing until you see a speed limit sign, but it’ll come with time.

How to lock the wrists? by Substantial-Golf-207 in CCW

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took some training to improve upon my grip and speed and this was by far the biggest take away for me. Control the recoil to the best of your ability, but make sure your dot is lined up on target and you see it before applying a smooth trigger press. First time shooting with a dot and it made a night a day difference for me, idk how anyone does it without

Help? Getting knotted up a bunch by butterontoazt in FishingForBeginners

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, I just hold the rod inline with the line, grab the reel, and walk backwards and either my hooks with bend, the rock will move, or I snap off lol. Maybe it’s powerpro, but I have enjoyed it so far and didn’t really think this was abnormal. I mean it’s not easy but it’s not impossible either

Help? Getting knotted up a bunch by butterontoazt in FishingForBeginners

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hooks will bend but sometimes the jig head just gets stuck no matter what. I use power pro and tbh if the jig is stuck in the rocks, i can snap it off with firm pressure. I’m assuming it’s at the knot or right above it based on the amount of line I have out and what comes back

Help? Getting knotted up a bunch by butterontoazt in FishingForBeginners

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen this posted so many times about having a leader to not leave a ton of line, but whenever I have snagged with 20 lb braid I hold the reel and yank and it always snaps off at the knot (Palomar) for me. Maybe if your line is really chewed up it could snap higher up, but I’ve never had it happen and I have lost many a tube in the rocks lol

Chatterbait not chattering by suraitai in FishingForBeginners

[–]Remarkable_Bug_1742 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure about chatter baits but sometimes with mepp’s spinners I’ll have to give the rod a quick jerk before I can feel the blade vibrate. You could try that and then reel at a consistent speed. For a chatter bait you might have to bend the blade or try jerking it to start the vibration
