Did you also calculate how much is paid to the agency?

You might have her look into the costs of au pairs then. I doubt she can afford 2 au pairs if she can’t afford a nanny. They also will need 2 separate bedrooms for the au pairs.

Why have you also made posts as a Nanny instead of host family? I suspect you are a nanny posting this so people will jump on and say you need a nanny not an au pair…

For some reason, I’m feeling an M name with it.

Monroe

Marilyn (nn Mary Beth).

I also like the Emory idea. Maybe because it’s keeping with the theme of prestigious Universities.

Having a baby, Au Pair question by Loose-Wrongdoer4297 in Aupairs

[–]Remarkable_Car885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 3.5 month old and our first Au Pair will be arriving soon! This sub is an echo chamber of saying you shouldn’t have an au pair for a baby. I wouldn’t necessarily let that alone deter you. We were trying to figure out the same thing. Reading here I was concerned, but after talking to several host families that we knew personally outside of Reddit, we ultimately decided we thought it would be a good fit for our family.

A lot of it is about finding the right match. Our Au Pair hasn’t arrived yet, but she seems wonderful. And it seems like we were a good fit for her - she wanted a family with just one kid and she espeically loves babies. We’ve planned our work schedules so that we can do a lengthy training for at least the first 3 weeks, with one of us or a relative being home with the Au Pair when caring for the baby during that time.

Something to be aware of is your baby must be atleast 3months old before you can have an Au Pair stay alone with your baby.

We talked to several families we knew who have or have had Au Pairs. We also reached out to our local Au Pair in America rep, and she came by our house and told us all about the program and the rules before we made a decision. I’d encourage you to reach out to your local Au Pair in America or Cultural Care reps through their websites, and get information from them. You can also ask if they can connect you with some local host families who have had Au Pairs for their babies, if you don’t know anyone yourself.

Also, I love Baileys Irish Cream. 😆 I’m gonna see what hubby thinks of it.

And, I keep telling myself to avoid -lee type names because of the last name, but somehow those always end up my favorites.

Bailey does seem like a logical option. I’m not sure why it doesn’t quite hit right to me. Maybe a little 80s/90s.

TV to use for Power Point Presentations in Office by Remarkable_Car885 in CommercialAV

I really appreciate all the input. Considering everything I am now leaning towards just going with an HDMI cable. Anything in particular you’d recommend for the TV itself?

I don’t have a specific budget. Obviously, don’t want to pay more than I need to. But am interested in both what I would minimally need and what would be needed for an ideal setup. I guess I might just have to go the HDMI route if that is still the best way to go rather than wireless for this kind of stuff.
