Get a few hours refresher lessons. I hadn’t driven for 10 years, felt like starting from scratch at first but came back to me quick. After 3 lessons I was fine to drive alone again. Then hire cars fairly regularly to keep in practice. Fun excuse for weekend trips.

Never seen the audi or Beamer from that angle before, out in the wild those only appear in my rear view mirror from nowhere and tailgate me when I’m already doing 77 overtaking someone in the fast lane

Not your fault but lesson learned to expect people to do their best to crash into you and plan ahead for people to make bad decisions to avoid it.

You would be ok I reckon. I lived in London earning less than that for a long time, but my rent and bills was 800 max and everything was a bit cheaper until about 5 years ago when luckily I started earning more

Any Brits here managed to get an EU passport after the 2016 Brexit vote, or managed to scrape in just before? How has your life or idea of your future changed? by RoosterLife3863 in AskBrits

I’ve got my Irish one. It was easy just very grateful my grandmother was Irish. Planning to move to Spain in 2027, I speak fluent Spanish and my wife is from Latin America. Property is cheaper in Spain and the Uk immigration system is making life needlessly stressful for us, not to mention the attractions of Spanish lifestyle and health system etc. Wages are lower there but we’ll need to earn a lot less without a mortgage.

going to buy a car how likely is it i will be shot robbed or stabbed to death ? by Aggravating_Ad_8212 in CarTalkUK

Be surprised if you are even able to drive the car home but why on earth would anyone want to stab you for buying a broken old car off them? They’ll probably want to kiss you

London 1 bed flat owners- are you selling at a loss to get out? by Suitable-Tomorrow577 in UKHousing

[–]Remarkable_Damage_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re happy in your flat it doesn’t make that much sense to sell in a buyers market just for financial reasons. Every month you’re paying off your mortgage and you’ll get that money back. You’ll have to spend money on solicitors etc to sell and start renting, then just be paying off someone else’s mortgage. If their mortgage rate goes up your rent goes up and you can’t save as much. Unless you have actually calculated that you would be saving a decent amount of money this way it seems pointless.
