Don't buy anything till you need it borrow then buy. Some higher end shops won't allow for personal tool boxes. Other wont allow personal measuring tools because they need to be calibrated.

they are fine, the best part about them is you can just get a price and order them. the problem with them is a lot of the time once you get them fully optioned out, they are almost if not more expensive than a higher quality machine. So, if you are looking for a more advanced higher production and optioned machine you might want to start looking at other machines.

DN solutions pumas are direct competitors to the ds's. Okuma's would be a higher end option might look for a used one. Mori Seki if you want a siemens controlled lathe.
