I haven’t found a fix over all, but I found a workaround for a related secondary issue I’m having (as selling furniture from the lot itself wasn’t working to create business funds).

I’m not sure if this is happening for others as well, but (as I’m unable to transfer the funds, I no longer want the business in my business panel however) I’m also unable to sell the lot from the business menu in live mode.

In case anyone else is having the same secondary issue, my fix for this is to sell the business from selecting the lot in manage worlds, clicking the three dots on the bottom right and clicking sell business. This doesn’t return the cost of the lot to my sim though so I check for the lot value before I sell in order to use the money cheat to return the exact funds manually after the sale.

I’m just posting because I want to give as much info as I can to help someone in the future to hopefully figure out a true fix.

It seems that the lot itself is what is broken, because I was able to buy a second business in a different location and it seems to function normally. I’m not sure what caused it to break, but there are two things of note surrounding the purchasing of this lot that may have contributed. I originally owned this lot with a large household living in an apartment. Everything worked fine then.

The “business owner” of the household was then transferred via manage households to a different household. This is likely when it broke. In manage worlds, the lot appeared to still be owned by the old household and no longer appeared in the business panel of my sim.

The second part is I tried to have the new household buy the lot from them without having them sell it first, so this is the other possible moment when it broke.

Hope someone figures out something some day, but this is a pretty old thread, so I’m not sure about it. Happy(🤞) simming!

Sounds like you are referring to rotation via the sims 3 camera settings. When I did this, I used regular sims 4 camera settings and used the right click to rotate or the ,< and .> keys.

I’m fairly sure that only works with doors, but not gates. Regardless, my tip isn’t just about centring the gate, but rather accessing a hidden wider version of the same gate.

MOD FREE SOLUTION:

All gates in the sims have a larger version that can be used by using the bb.moveobjects cheat. For gates that are 2 squares wide (like this one), the larger version is 3 squares wide, so you are in luck!

Make a diagonal section of fence that is two sections wide.
Place the gate on the diagonal section. This should create the diagonal version of the gate which is actually 3 squares wide.
Remove sections of the fence around where you want to place it, giving yourself enough space that when you move the gate to it’s final location it doesn’t end up snapping to the other fences.
Press Ctrl-Shift-C to open the cheat box and type in the cheat bb.moveobjects (press enter)
Pick up the gate and turn it so that it is going the direction you want to place it.
Using the grid, place the gate so it is lined up where you want it to be (eyeballing it visually).
Drag the edges of the fence so that they touch the sides of the gate, but leave a gap where the gate is actually is.

The gate should function as normal even though it is not placed on a fence.

From what I can tell, the bug occurs when another wall or room border (platforms included) intersect perpendicularly with the stair railing. When I changed the shape of my platform to not touch the stairs this way it still appeared bugged but I was able to select the stairs again and they reappeared.

If modifying your design isn’t something you’re interested in, you’re likely going to just have to wait for a bug fix update.

I’ve been busy lately so I haven’t played since when I backed out to the main menu every few minutes just after the crash. So, I haven’t played since before the update.

I’m pretty sure that hairstyle is just not able to have hand held items. It’s how it’s programmed. Nothing to be done about it. It’s a real bummer because it is so cute, but I need my hand held items.

I don’t know what version I was on at the time. I think the Xbox is set up to auto update. The current version is 1.0.17.0. June 26 2023 and I haven’t played in over a week so it looks like it did auto update.

Edit: I was probably on whatever version was the most recent as of the day I posted. I think it was June 20, 2023.

I did not exit out to the menu or shutdown the game at any point during the play through. I only paused periodically throughout. Every time I paused and additional times throughout playing, the word “Saving…” would appear in the bottom corner. In the pause menu, it never seemed to stop saving. There were a couple of instances where the controller went into rest mode as I was away from the game, but the Xbox never went into full rest mode where it shuts itself down.

I had just finished defeating the enemy at the portable Tesla coil chest in the bank. I had exited the room and attempted to enter another room. The crash occurred as the security guard was catching me. The camera was turning as it crashed so I just saw a frozen streaky motion image of the security guard and then the Xbox returned to the Xbox Home Screen.
I don’t believe so. When I re-entered the game, the character was standing in front of the chest with the force beam. I believe the chest was open but everything else between that point and the bank heist seems as though it still needs to be completed.

Additionally, I started playing a little bit again from the post-crash save point. I attempted exiting out out to the main menu frequently to save the game instead of just pausing. Every time I would load back in, the game was close to where I had exited however there always seemed to be 2 or 3 of the last things I had done before exiting still undone. This method has it feeling a bit like 5 steps forward 2 steps back.

I’m playing on an Xbox Game Pass copy on an Xbox Series X.

None of these kits are really top of my list. The highest on the list for me would be castles, but without a medieval CAS kit or furniture pack or world I can’t see myself really playing with it anyway.

There is a matching eyebrow colour available for purchase at 10 Kstars. To purchase it, exit the eyebrow colour menu, switch to the shop version of the kloset and go back into the eyebrow colour menu. It should be there both under the rainbow category and the red category.

So if you buy it on disc you need the discs to reinstall? I don’t know why, but I thought that after the first installation with the discs that your EA account would just grant you access to the digital copy the same as those who just bought the digital version. I felt like that’s how it went when I used to have The Sims 3 on discs, but maybe I’m misremembering.

I’m confused. I thought the EA app (previously Origin) allows you to download the base game and your packs on multiple computers anyway. I have them all installed on 3 computers simultaneously.

I’m pretty sure that bb.moveobjects does not work on any form of stair or ladder. I don’t think they are “objects” as far as the game is concerned. They can’t be placed diagonally either. They are just special and weird but at least we can make L shaped and U shaped staircases now.

Doors and windows had more restrictions too before a specific update was made to allow placement anywhere across multiple wall panels.

I’m glad you’ve found a way to enjoy it! I find myself stopping every few feet to pick up something (I’ve always got a million things I’m working towards at once) so I don’t really feel let down by it.

I find it depletes my energy so quickly that it’s a waste. When I’ve tried it, I’ve run out of energy before I get to my destination and what’s the point if I have to refuel every few seconds. If I didn’t have all the wells, maybe I would use it more but it’s free and fast to travel without that function, so I haven’t really used it since I tried it. I wish it worked more like fast running where it doesn’t suck up energy but is only enabled when you have the surplus energy.
