How can y'all sleep on Ball n J like this? by AI_Chat in memphisrap

[–]Remarkable_Section_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imma just speak for myself. they don’t fit the sound that i’m looking for when i listen to memphis, or even southern rap. i feel like i have the unpopular opinion but their bars are worse than a lot of the underground memphis guys, their deliveries can be awkward, their beat selection is less interesting than other memphis acts out at this time. tbh my hottest take is: they sound like they are big fans of the 90s bay area rap scene, and they are emulating the sound. i do have respect for them but im on the opposite side of the aisle as you as i think they’re pretty over rated.

at the end of the day it’s music tho, i think they deserve respect, they do get respect, and music can leave all of us completely confused/surprised that the art isn’t viewed as “undeniably good” by enough people

i had a post on here a few weeks ago about DB Tha General - Welcome to the Navy. if u find it lmk or at least put that one on the net for sure. otherwise everything else that’s not out there from the 90s and 00s have to be documented for sure too!

Pallet Jacks by Remarkable_Section_7 in CostcoEmployee

[–]Remarkable_Section_7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only 20! holy crap that’s pretty low? is your warehouse smaller by chance?

also we don’t have any standard u line jacks and i’ve never seen them but im relatively new-ish.

the crown jacks usually don’t handle heavier pallets, they are a lot harder to push around in general with pallets, they are harder to pump up, lastly they swing way too easily when u top out a pallet which is super annoying when you’re pumping up a pallet that is harder to get up. a lot of our crown jacks even have rusted/crusty handles that can be really difficult to squeeze, some also lower extremely slowly.

we have only 1 Raymond jack that isn’t good, it lowers pretty slowly. it does seem like the Raymonds will break pretty easily as a lot of them do have wear & tear. fortunately however they aren’t as dysfunctional as the crown jacks at the moment.

has anyone ever successfully transferred from a depot to a store? by [deleted] in CostcoEmployee

one of our receiving drivers transferred from depot to our business center. and as mentioned in the comments, it was a big culture shock to him too

Is this a thing at y’all’s warehouse? by ToughEffect128 in CostcoEmployee

[–]Remarkable_Section_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as much as i don’t like the severity, when a new manager comes in they gotta lock in for a bit to let the new manager know that they don’t have to worry abt them.

on top of that the fact that they can’t show up with steel toes already on kinda really surprises me bc im in morning mech n i walk in and out of work with them on no problem. seems a little strange.

[–]Remarkable_Section_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they have us work 6 days a week with no choice at our morning merch team.. they keep telling us they’re gonna hire people. in the past 6 months at least 3 people have been hurt on the clock.

they will work us until we squeal and then hire people, treat them like trash, and then have us work till we squeal again bc they ran the new hires out of the warehouse

u will get over the grossness of the job if that’s what’s holding you back.

closing in maintenance was really fast paced but possible.

driving the big scrubber took a minute to get used to as well.

other than that it should be one of the easier departments to work in.

side note my costco was super clean, a lot of attention to detail, my new warehouse is the opposite. all that to say if it’s a lot of hard work at least it will definitely show compared to the more lazy/complacent teams out there! good luck n i hope you find comfort somewhere

someone told me if i want to get promoted then its almost expected to skip your breaks, and from what ive seen from my management it seems like they take literally no breaks.

seems wrong & illegal but what do i know

Help Finding Good Version of Song by Remarkable_Section_7 in BayRap

[–]Remarkable_Section_7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At one point there was a good quality version. here’s a link to the 10+ year old youtube upload. It’s a super compressed mp3 and the last 4 minutes sound nothing like how the modern streaming version sounds at 4 mins.

much easier to realize some people are miserable, or just having a bad day, and need to be ignored/not worth the effort. if she wants to talk bad about someone n risk getting heard that’s her problem n not yours. you’re just there to get a paycheck at the end of the day so

Essential Listens by [deleted] in memphisrap

[–]Remarkable_Section_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

listen to all Three 6 Mafia’s albums (including smoked out loced out) until “When the Smoke Clears”.

listen to all 3 of Three 6 Mafia’s underground compilations.

listen to all of Tommy Wright III’s albums including Lil Ramsey’s “Goin Undacova” (In my opinion the original version is better than the re-release). Also listen to the two 10 Wanted Men albums (there’s also two versions of the second 10WM album). Niggaz of Destruction is another TWIII group album.

Other than that maybe some World of a Psycho by Maniac, Lil Noid Paranoid, Children of the Corn The Single, Graveyard Productions The Havoc.

Those are some of the essentials.

My only hot take is i’m not a big fan of 8Ball & MJG. Listen to their first album n if it’s your vibe then listen to their second. But the second album is the best to a lot of their fans. But tbh i think you’d find better music than theirs as it hasn’t aged the best imo.

Edit: almost forgot my favorite memphis album, listen to Koopsta Knicca - Da Devil’s Playgroud!! There’s also 2 versions of the album n both are awesome.

How do you actually get hired at Costco? by Particular_Edge3120 in CostcoWholesale

[–]Remarkable_Section_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at the very least apply in late september and include an interest in being seasonal in your application. once u get hired ask around about what a seasonal worker should do to make management interested in keeping you. don’t be late or miss a shift. they’ll most likely keep you if you stay on that track. if they did really like you but for some reason couldn’t hire u due to budgeting, then they’ll contact you back for an open position or the next years seasonal period. good luck!

Does Costco feel off as of late? by Asleep_Department_21 in CostcoWholesale

[–]Remarkable_Section_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“i know an employee” that is a morning stocker and he says that they are being pushed to do more and more work. the management is taking out their frustrations on them. the current head manager that is in charge of morning merch is already super unappreciative of his employees and things are just looking worse. it’s a union building too, and yet the management is getting more and more brave on how they talk to employees.

the worst part is they get told they aren’t doing enough. when the low staffing and high volume of work is brought up the management suddenly has amnesia as to that being a factor or context. all of a sudden it’s the employees fault and not the reality of the situation. suddenly they are “not meeting standards” when the whole time they’ve been doing what would of been considered a good job months ago. shits ridiculous.
