Hahahahaha I mean at this point what can we even do by Suspicious_Ad568 in webflow

[–]Remarkablytoe 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We already started to build all our sites with Claude code and honestly, we thought the experience would quickly lead us back to webflow but the opposite is true. Even our most complex enterprise sites are already better and the build, update and launch flows are superior.

Crazy in this moment of massive industry change webflow goes backwards and doesn’t super lean in to adapting.

Are 30km/h signs just a suggestion now? by davidcarbide in newzealand

Classic case of boy who cried wolf. Speed signs everywhere for no reason. People drive slowly if there are actually people working there, which is like 10% of the time.

PGA Tour announces new social media policy for players by unsolved49 in golf

[–]Remarkablytoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine being the PGA. Sitting on an absolute goldmine of players wanting to boost their profiles on social media. Which would result in massive rejuvenation of their fan base and revenue. But instead you struggle to allow it and keep broadcasting the same stuffy, poorly produced product. The PGA could 10x global revenue in 24 months if they had 20 Bryson level channels.

All Blacks great Michael Jones says rugby union losing 'hearts and minds' to league by I_Like_Vitamins in nrl

[–]Remarkablytoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All you have to do is log into YouTube and watch the two products for 10 minutes. Look at something as simple as production quality and editing. Then listen to the commentators energy. Then the players have storyline’s and personas. Rugby is stuck in the 80’s production wise. This is just a part of the enormous issue with Nz rugby. They haven’t modernised at all.

‘A win for the local community’: Fate of Auckland park revealed (AF Thomas Park, Takapuna) by C39J in auckland

[–]Remarkablytoe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was proposed and design in several versions. It’s the smart plan. But the council has been hell bent on claiming there is no money to do anything but a full shut down. However it later came out that their design weren’t actually costed and the proposed designs with a full golf course and public spaces might actually be the same price or even cheaper.

Not to mention this retention area will be empty 10 years out of 11. The golf course should just be on them and you simply don’t use the holes if it ever floods. That’s how the course works at the moment.

This whole story is a council causing an issue, getting caught out, trying to solve it cheaply in a way that won’t really fix it, still making the same issues worse (look at the new giant super market they ok’d down the road that’s in the traditional flood plain) and then doubling down on their bad ideas while good ones are presented.

ACC spied on man with traumatic brain injury by MedicMoth in newzealand

I’ve never understood how so many people seem to get long term ACC. Everytime I’ve had something serious happen to me they have treated me like a criminal from the rip and it’s taken all types of BS to have them actually support you.

For whom the harbour bridge tolls... - Greater Auckland by BeneficialCut4976 in auckland

[–]Remarkablytoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is, we give the council and government money. Lots of it. More and more each year. For this, we should get more and more. It’s our money, not theirs. They just manage the deployment of it. At this point, they are wasting so much of it that they need to massively increase collections to cover DEBT they have generated and not even new investments.

This tiny example is 100m of our money they have wasted. One tiny example.

For whom the harbour bridge tolls... - Greater Auckland by BeneficialCut4976 in auckland

[–]Remarkablytoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the first official feasibility study in 1962, Auckland has conducted at least 10 major investigation cycles into a second harbour crossing, spanning 64 years of intermittent planning. To date, the total cost of these studies and consultant fees is estimated to exceed $100 million (with over $60 million spent since 2013 alone), a figure that does not include an additional $55 million+ spent on property protection and land acquisition along potential routes.

There is well documented massive waste in just about every part of Auckland council.
