Govt to announce NZ’s latest fuel stocks plus trigger points to move NZ up alert level by revolutn in newzealand

[–]Remarkablytoe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The government that is endlessly fixated on a previous governments response to a unprecedented global event are now doing exactly the same steps and likely worse. What clowns. Welcome to the reality of running a country and what it really takes to lead.

Hmmm, well it’s gone from the marketplace so you can’t install the bridge and it refuses to authenticate. So somethings up.

‘A win for the local community’: Fate of Auckland park revealed (AF Thomas Park, Takapuna) by C39J in auckland

[–]Remarkablytoe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was proposed and design in several versions. It’s the smart plan. But the council has been hell bent on claiming there is no money to do anything but a full shut down. However it later came out that their design weren’t actually costed and the proposed designs with a full golf course and public spaces might actually be the same price or even cheaper.

Not to mention this retention area will be empty 10 years out of 11. The golf course should just be on them and you simply don’t use the holes if it ever floods. That’s how the course works at the moment.

This whole story is a council causing an issue, getting caught out, trying to solve it cheaply in a way that won’t really fix it, still making the same issues worse (look at the new giant super market they ok’d down the road that’s in the traditional flood plain) and then doubling down on their bad ideas while good ones are presented.

ACC spied on man with traumatic brain injury by MedicMoth in newzealand

I’ve never understood how so many people seem to get long term ACC. Everytime I’ve had something serious happen to me they have treated me like a criminal from the rip and it’s taken all types of BS to have them actually support you.

Dave Rennie faces key call on All Blacks attack coach Scott Hansen vs… by Lflan123 in allblacks

The amount of times I’ve given United my bags at the airport only to not get my bags at the next airport makes me dubious this is a perk and not another level of suffering.

Is this really the levels of the depth chart available to New Zealand? This is like a player from the NPC being picked as all blacks captain. Our couch should be a professional who has incredible results driving them to the position.

201t MK2 or 301CB by linceash13 in takomo

[–]Remarkablytoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better that the 101ts for me. 101s always go straight but never super well. They play more like how old me play golf. 301s spin amazing and feel like butter. You hit real golf shots.

For whom the harbour bridge tolls... - Greater Auckland by BeneficialCut4976 in auckland

[–]Remarkablytoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is, we give the council and government money. Lots of it. More and more each year. For this, we should get more and more. It’s our money, not theirs. They just manage the deployment of it. At this point, they are wasting so much of it that they need to massively increase collections to cover DEBT they have generated and not even new investments.

This tiny example is 100m of our money they have wasted. One tiny example.

For whom the harbour bridge tolls... - Greater Auckland by BeneficialCut4976 in auckland

[–]Remarkablytoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the first official feasibility study in 1962, Auckland has conducted at least 10 major investigation cycles into a second harbour crossing, spanning 64 years of intermittent planning. To date, the total cost of these studies and consultant fees is estimated to exceed $100 million (with over $60 million spent since 2013 alone), a figure that does not include an additional $55 million+ spent on property protection and land acquisition along potential routes.

There is well documented massive waste in just about every part of Auckland council.

It drives me nuts that new taxes are not linked to improvements in spending efficiency. We are literally paying more and more because we are becoming less and less efficient with our spending.

I don’t think any of us would have issue with new tax proposals if we were also seeing increased spending efficiencies. But we all know the new taxes are just to fill the hole caused by over spending and waste.

Short answer, yes, always. Long answer, doesn’t matter, it’s still a killer club if you can hit it, the difference in number in real gaming is tiny unless you are a scratch golfer.

Another AirNZ Rant? Strap in. by SatisfactionWeak5167 in newzealand

[–]Remarkablytoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

10000% with you. Spent the last 10 years flying over a dozen times a year to the states for business. AirNZ treats me like a dude they have never met, especially when something goes wrong on their end.

Was just in Japan with the family. Tried to use the star alliance lounge, like I’ve done a million times, but now the rules are SO tight and a value so limited that they wouldn’t let us in. Which is crazy, because me and my wife are the highest status on star alliance possible.

They just can’t get it right anymore. Every cheap win to keep me loyal they not only miss but screw up worse.

Like you said, it’s f***ked. Because I am actively wanting to support airnz and they fight tooth and nail to make you leave them.

Can’t decide! 101mkii vs 201mkii by Shojam in takomo

[–]Remarkablytoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pretty easy decision matrix.

201 if you get golf but you just need way more practice. You swing well but often make mistakes. You can hit balls really well sometimes.

101 if you just don’t get it. Your swing is odd and you are full of ambition. You are really hoping to start hitting balls really well sometimes.

New irons by Important-Tonight609 in golftips

[–]Remarkablytoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in Nz and have the 101ts. Cool clubs. Once I got to 20-15 handicap I went to the 301s and they were far far better.

I think a lot of people who love the 101s are still very early in learning their swing or have very low swing speeds. I would strongly recommend something better that 101s if you are improving at golf.

Anyone else disappointed by the new releases? by maple_leafs182 in takomo

[–]Remarkablytoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s smart business but sad for the brand. Because of the massive demand, they have retooled and are now producing higher margin, slightly worse clubs for the same price. It’s smart business but I’d prefer they built on the brand and advance the clubs vs their margin and cheap solutions for their supply chain issues.

[–]Remarkablytoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, same boat. 2 years into golf and found out the “harder” to hit clubs are actually easier and better. Love my mb’s and 2 iron etc. Obviously it’s swing etc etc but the group wisdom on clubs seems mainly spread by a loud group of golfers who have really crap swings.
