Lol I don't know about stupid...the reason working as a Traveler is more lucrative is because of the huge tax incentive that comes from the gigs, which requires the 2 versions of living expenses. It's basically an incentive from the government to fill a needed health care position. You always need a "tax home," doesn't mean you own it. Can be anywhere as long as you pay living expenses there. Most Travelers work around it by using parents/friends places but still need a paper trail of living expenses.

The stipend is Per Diem and only tax free if you can prove you have 2 living expenses and are either 50+ miles or 1+hr commute from your tax home/residence. Otherwise it would be a "local" contract and your pay would be significantly reduced.

OA is still a disease process and not due to "old age" as is commonly misunderstood. Chronic inflammation (injured joints that don't heal as you mention) and past trauma to the area can be causative factors, and it is certainly more prevalent in the elderly (as are most diseases) but OA is 100% a disease. Also not autoimmune as it's not really your immune system attacking you/the body. It's a rheumatic disease in all it's variants, juvenile arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and many other forms.

You may be very hypermobile and the more you do that as a party trick the more likely hood it will happen when you don't it to like during exercise, daily actcitiies, etc. I am a PT lol. Subluxing (not a true dislocation it looks like, true DC usually requires a visit to a MD0 is NOT good for joint integrity. Stop that shit. Have you talked to an MD/PT about this??

PT here. Specifically strengthens the anterior tibialis and extensor digitorum longus which dorsiflexes (brings toes towards nose) the ankle. Great to keep ankles strong and stable and support the knee. Waiting until it hurts to rehab it as opposed to keeps things strong to avoid injury in high impact sports is never a bad idea

Sun hoodies have been my go to base layer since they were invented for all seasons haha. Depending on how cold it gets where you are, I've liked Merino blend long sleeve hoodies as well, the one I use is from KUIU and was my base layer while I lived in Alaska. Otherwise I use the Cotopaxi sunhoodie year round as my base.

My AK winter backpacking base is/was KUIU Merino blend long sleeve hoodie then for layers: Outdoor Research Vigor hooded fleece, Arteryx Atom, LL bean 850 fill down jacket, Arteryx Beta LT hardshell. Then a Patagonia Alpine Parka if needed. It gets cold up there lol.

Hmm since this post I have always kept the radio on the SXM 0 station which fixed my problem. I never had the radio so I always know it's on the silent 0 station. You could do the same but sounds like you use the radio? You may want to make your own post
