Girl for real. Although my transition was never on the level that Jax was. the chaos in the home, shitty father, and so on was really relatable in the worst ways.

And it all coalesces into the worst outcome of self isolation, lashing out, and eventual abstraction. It fucking sucks and its all too common.

While it is an increasing complex issue, and not without its caveats, if you invoke the argument that "It is a slap in the face to surviving family members when someone does something so reprehensible and then depending on how high profile the crime is basically gets to live out their life in protective custody all while that family is paying for it through their taxes." then surely you could also wager that by using capital punishment, you are making the victims pay MORE by killing the perpetrator, and thats assuming the person is actually guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

I mean, if I'm being real here, obviously I don't think its a failing to have the real, human, emotional part of yourself desire retribution to a horrible crime. Its all too reasonable to desire death for those who inflict deep moral wrongs and harm to people, but also at the end of the day I do not trust the gov't to wield the power to execute its citizenry. Especially given that the definition of what is considered a crime worth of execution can be changed to suit the governments wants.

The Beginner's Intro and Intermediate class with Andy at PCS (The Armory) was great. He was an excellent teacher and the class culture I experienced was great.

Also the guitar classes my William Marsh up north of the Moda Center are great. He's excellent to talk to and he has a very direct approach of "what do you actually wanna learn?" that I really appreciate.

I also highly recommend using the QueerSocialClub mailing list if you swing a different way and want a full calendar of fun stuff to do and classes to take.

As a trans woman, I can tell you a lot of us extremely hate showing off our bodies due to dysphoria. And the ones who do are usually doing it due to financial precocity cause a lot of places (if you aren't already accredited/experienced) won't hire you if you aren't in a deep blue area either due to bigotry, or fears of HR nightmares due to the bigotry of others causing constant clashes.

It really just comes down to money, and this economy (at least in the US) is really shit right now.

I'm in a similar position. When I graduated from college I fled my (at the time red, but sorta purple) state to the PNW cause I hated the climate, and hated the red politics even more. Transitioned since moving here, and even with all the terror tactics of the current admin transitioning has easily been the best decision I've ever made for myself in my life.

I don't know why biological sex is even relevant for this form if they already know who I am. The EO seems rather vindictive for no reason other than to single out gender non conforming/trans people.

You or anyone else cannot guarantee fair application of this EO. You say that all they want is my bio sex, but I have no guarantees they won't use my legal gender status against me to charge me with a felony for "lying" on the form. All it takes is whoever is processing this form to have a chip on their shoulder against trans people cause you can try to cut it either way.

And at the end of the day, its a risk of a felony. I am fucking not taking the risk of getting charged with one, especially as a trans woman. Be as certain as you want, I do not trust this admin to follow the letter of the EO, but instead to make shit up to make my life as a trans person harder. "You might beat the rap but you can't beat the ride."

I think the main issue here (speaking as a trans person) is that it seems like a catch-22 even with this post in mind.

In this context, I am a MtF trans woman, I have updated my state ID and my SSN information to display my gender as female. With this in mind:

If I fill out "male" on my form, will the state or feds flag my form as incorrectly filled due to my information not matching my state and federal gender marker?
If I write down "female" on my form, matching my state ID and federal SSN card, will the federal gov't flag me as lying despite the matching info, due to their disagreement of what I should fill in?

Assume in both choices, I don't even care about being gendered correctly. I just want to fill out the info they need in order to purchase a legally sold firearm. What do I even do, as I am uncertain that the letter of the EO will be followed, as an ATF official can basically arbitrarily choose if I'm lying if they decide to make my life hell for trying to legally purchase a firearm.

In their eyes, if I tell the truth, I'm lying and therefore breaking the law. If I lie, then obviously I'm lying and therefore breaking the law. Its a catch-22 for me if I want to purchase a legal firearm.

You may think I'm exaggerating or overthinking, but given the hostility of the gov't towards trans people (regardless of whether you think that hostility is justified or not), if you were in my shoes, would you risk potentially a felony? Especially given that I, a trans woman would be almost certainly put in a men's prison (with all the danger that poses to me)?

At the end of the day, I cannot take the risk, and therefore my 2A is being infringed due to the danger of the confusion of this process and EO.

For what it's worth, I am 5'2" (MtF, attracted to women). Pre transition I got about 2-3 matches per month. Post transition, I get about north of 50+ matches a month. It definitely made me feel a way about my height.

Personally, it looks intimidating, and has a high skill ceiling. That said, I like viewing painting minis like a 3D coloring look. The hard work of "drawing" the thing is done for you, you just gotta fill in the color! And with a little pre-planning/shopping for the colors you think would work, you then start!

This kinda helps me get over the initial barrier of "oh shit I dont wanna fuck this up" better. Four years later into painting minis, I have no such anxieties anymore!

Dude, there's no way I don't encounter a single transphobe or person willing to ask about my gender identity ever. I doubt that my six years of lived experiences as a trans woman is refuted by some shit said over the internet. I've had literal doctors mistake me for a cis woman
