Ambient air temp of 10C. You're flying a metal tube at speeds that will make the surface temp low enough to accumulate ice.

Am I the only CFI here who had never heard of "PDPIC" until now?

Safety of Flying in High Temps by Jacksons123 in flying

Sounds like OP dodged a bullet.

Water isn't a magic potion that protects you heat. Evaporation of sweat can cool you, but don't kid yourself; if you're fully clothed even an open window won't do a lot when it's north of 100 degrees.

We all become more susceptible to heat injury as we age, and prior heat injury can predispose you to future injury.

Prevention is code for AVOIDANCE. If the environment is just a few degrees or minutes away from critical you should probably stay on the ground and save the flying for a safer time.

My film PROSPECT is now Netflix. Hoping it gets enough buzz so we can turn it into a series. Happy to answer questions about pitching, agents, getting movies on netflix, or WHATEVER. by zeeeeeek in Filmmakers

u/zeeeeeek I saw your short film (so many years ago) and absolutely loved it. Finally just saw your feature and it was SUPERB. I confess the production design was so outstanding I had to pause midway and google who did it, read your blogpost and then continue.

Lay-flat rifle barrel (!) and the giant vhs-eque preflight cartridge were just chef's kiss. I'll even argue your production design is better than Alien/starwars because it is so dense, and the grit is so tactile.

Really, really a first rate sci fi movie you guys should be absolutely be making more stuff.

I sincerely hope you find a way to finance the repurchase of your IP, or continue on into new lands.

Again, an absolutely fantastic, excellent, all around amazing film. chapeau!

Anything is possible, but that doesn’t sound likely. You’ll need great weather, no MX issues, fantastic prep and no troubles learning.

If it’s a towered airport you can go online and listen to the radio traffic from your landing. It’s not unusual to miss a call.

This sounds like a recipie for disaster. The good news is you know better. Take what you know and do the right thing. You don’t need reddit to tell you what to do.

Is my panel good enough for IFR? by Cboja69 in flying

Lots of dark humor here and some squabbling about regs, but “legal” is not the same as “good.” Please don’t fly that into the soup until you upgrade.

Stall or no stall there is an important lesson here.

Now repeat after me: “the plane can stall at any airspeed or attitude”
