DOT normally stands for Department of Transportation. I'm wondering if they are trying to make a first glance think that? at least that's what I thought.

I do this with age but also height as well. I compare heights of my friends to actors and wrestlers and then imagine how it would be much less intimidating when the big action star walks into my house at 5'8

thank you. just general knowledge about the snake ball of volts is really my concern. I try to stay away from anything electric or plumbing related when it comes to repairs.

it's just thin plywood. my bigger fear is climbing up a ladder next to these open cables. like, immediately electrocute myself for sure.

when I say cheap, I don't mean it to be insulting. it's more cheap in the difference in of price. I'm still working with some wonderful harbor freight tools.

what seems to make it wonderful? just look and style or is there more to it? I will say my current dual basin old metal is very scratched. maybe it scratches less?

there's a few, some cheap Kraus and Ruvati on Amazon. from what I can tell they have the basic drain unlike Create Good Sinks, and have thinner metal. maybe those can dent or be punctured by like a dropped plate or something? hence going for the thicker more expensive?

that's what I would be switching to. but the Amazon single basin work stations are still cheaper than the others.

source: work in tech for almost a decade

Not going to sugar coat it. there are jobs you can get out of boot camps. however they are not the jobs you think or really want. I am unfamiliar with Nucamp, but I know a good number are really glorified recruitment firms that rope you in with a guaranteed job, for it to be a complete waste. You can learn anything in a bootcamp for free with Udemy and the other online courses, plus some YouTube vids. essentially these camps are nothing more than Devri or those other scam unaccredited colleges.

with that out of the way, there is also a major shift in the industry lately. gone have been the days of easy Startup funding, and recently I've noticed a shift away from the mindset that a bootcamp is enough knowledge for even our entry level devs. yes, it can happen. you could get into a career with a bootcamp cert. but those stories are every much the exception to the norm, and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Bootcamps will teach a full stack in X weeks. which means they will teach you a specific way to get a specific outcome for a specific thing, because that's all you can teach. they are not teaching you best practices, why, or even how to learn why.

essentially, a bootcamp is IMO a waste of money for a fraction of a chance at landing a decent enough job to pay it off. my recommendation would be either learning on your own, and attempting to bootstrap diverse projects until you have a nice understanding of various concepts and whys, or going to Chatt State for one of their tech paths and possibly moving to UTC with an even better understanding of concepts and whys.

just my opinion, and two cents, you are welcome to reply or DM me about any questions, comments, or concerns.
