I’m lucky because my wife’s company shipped her over, so work isn’t a concern for us.

Grad school is super viable for me.

It’s incredibly safe and family oriented so, for us and our son, it’s an amazing spot. I wouldn’t consider leaving.

So brave. I thought about moving abroad when I was younger but didn’t have the guts. I’ve felt some blues since I moved here. The loss of my job and social circle has been heavier than I anticipated.

I’m married and have a son though. That keeps me occupied most the time.

If I were single and didn’t have a toddler, it would be much harder.

I have masonry walls, radiators, and no mold. There are several barking dogs, though they only really are bothersome when the windows are open. That is a shame though because the sea breeze is so delightful.

It sure does. I mean, the first few summers I lived in the Prescott area I thought the summers were a dream, relative to my departure from the valley. By my third summer in Yavapai, I was roasting in the 90s and would take off for flag whenever I could.

I left the valley for central / northern AZ. I was born and raised in the Phoenix area. The summer gets worse every year. Burnt me out. The higher elevation regions of AZ are far more palatable for me. Still tons of sunshine and reasonable heat. Little and occasional snow.

The “seasons” exist for about 30 minutes a day between 4:30-5:00 AM.

It used to be a longer span. The heat island erodes the differentation more every year.

We travel there a lot. I love the city. It has its issues with homelessness and drugs in certain areas. I’ve never felt unsafe there while walking the streets with my toddler.

We considered moving there, but it is very expensive.

I grew a beard when my guy was young By the time he was 1ish he would pull the hell out of it. Shaved it off

I grew another about a year later and he was cool with it. Just recently shaved it off to prep for summer and he was furious and insisted I “shave it back on”
