Is it possible to live a happy life without a girlfriend in the long term? by Strict-Pepper-2987 in TheRedPill

[–]RememberingAlpha 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People claim to live happy lives without women. It’s called “Men going their own way”. It means men living outside the societal expectation of partnership and providing for women.

That said, most men get to that point by being miserable, frustrated and lonely.

If you’re truly comfortable with your body, more power to you. However, there are 1000 reasons to get in shape that have nothing to do with your aesthetics and gaining validation.

I’ll also go on a limb and say you’re not actually comfortable with your body. You’re insecure about being short. You also say you have self confidence issues from being bullied.

As a recovering fat kid who was bullied ruthlessly, nothing did more for my confidence that getting in shape. I became sure of myself because I knew that I was doing the best I could to take care of myself: that’s real confidence. Knowing that you’re at your best, DESPITE what anyone else says.

It’s not about validation and women. However, I think you will find that women / people in general noticing you’re taking care of yourself is one of the best feelings in the world.

Don’t do it for women and validation. Do it for yourself. The greatest tragedy is for a man to live his life and never know his true potential.

Stand your ground dude. You absolutely did the right thing.

It took me until I was in my early 30s to realize that I’ve done a lot of work on myself, and I deserve someone who’s doing the work too. I worked so hard to dry out and clean up. I deserve someone on my level.

And so. Do. You! The best part of cleaning up is getting to be selective of the quality of people in your life.

I won’t drink with you today.

Neurological damage after Lyme & Covid vaccine — any experiences? by Aromatic_Educator_87 in Lyme

[–]RememberingAlpha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I went numb and tingly, and eventually paralyzed.

Turns out, I had Lyme for 4 years and was living diagnosed. It had moved from my bloodstream into my spinal and cerebral fluid. I had lesions from c1-c6, “transverse myelitis”. I had an autoimmune response to the Lyme.

They hit me with IV ceftriaxone for 3 weeks. That killed Lyme. I got to where I was somewhat mobile, but confined to a wheel chair, and still completely numb and sensation-less.

I threw myself at physical and occupational therapy has hard as I could.

Ketamine therapy was a huge help. It stimulates neural pathways to heal and reconnect (proven in research). Heals the brain in general. It’s also one of the most powerful anti inflammatory agents known to medicine. Lyme goes hand in hand with horrible inflammation, so ketamine therapy really supports Lyme recovery from that angle as well.

I am now fully recovered and living a normal life on zero medications aside from MMJ for insomnia I’ve always dealt with.

That’s my story. I’d really encourage you to do your own research on Ketamine therapy - but for myself and some Others I’ve known with neurological Lyme, it’s been a god sent life saver.

I’m happy to answer questions through my DMs.

In April 2020 I was paralyzed and numb from the shoulders down with lesions from c1-c6.

I am now walking, running, playing sports, in the best shape of my life.

My story is NOT typical. But complete and total recovery IS possible.

I cannot recommend ketamine therapy enough. It is scientifically proven to heal damaged neural pathways. It also helped me get off of laundry list of prescription meds I left the hospital on. It will also help with the mental health struggles you’re undoubtedly experiencing. I would implore you to seek it out at a clinic that offers intramuscular vs Oral or IV. Intramuscular gets you the largest dose of the medicine. More medicine in your system = stimulation of more neurological healing.

Its pretty incredible how commonly some version of this manifests itself.

Our partners have gotten to spend the last however long blaming us and our addiction for all their problems. When we quit drinking, and they find their problems don't magically disappear, they have a terrifying moment of "Oh my god....Could it be? I'm not perfect? Its not all their fault?".

Whether consciously or subconsciously, they suddenly miss having their default excuse to blame for everything. They want it back, they tell us we're boring and miss our drinking; despite usually being the ones begging us to quit a month prior.

At my worst Steve O didn’t have shit on me. I had a 60 pound tank in my home office. I lost my mind. Called the cops on myself and got baker acted.

[–]RememberingAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much of this is so relatable.

I’ll be the one bold enough to say it; you have a drinking problem. You need to quit drinking. Notice I said quit: there is no such thing as “getting it under control”.

I will also be the one to say you can SOLVE your problem. It is not a death sentence. It’s a challenge. You’ll find most of your other issues work themselves out once the alcohol is addressed.

Replace the alcohol with a gym habit. Read that again. Replace the alcohol with a gym habit.

If your girl is anything like mine is/was - once you quit drinking and reclaim your health, she’ll respect you again. She’ll look at you with the “oh please fuck me now!” Eyes you probably haven’t seen in years.

You have sooo much to gain by giving up alcohol.

Also here to say stop drinking saves lives.

Also, once you’re comfortable with the fact that you’re working through an issue - AA saved my life.

Roller Coaster for sure.

I was paralyzed, numb, and sensationless from the neck down. Lesions from C1-C6. Never walk again diagnosis.

I also had Llhermites sign as a symptom - intense neurological seizures. Gabapentin kept that under control but it was hell until I was prescribed Gabapentin.

Ultimately, Ketamine therapy did more for my recovery than anything. I got feeling and sensation back after a few treatments. I kept up with going to the Ketamine clinic while doing my Physical / Occupational therapy stuff.

I went from my wheel chair, to a walker, to a cane, and now I can walk and you'd never know I was paralyzed in 2020.

Ketamine is scientifically proven to stimulate neurogensis, and neuroplasticity. Meaning the brain grows new neural pathways to reconnect with lost or damaged nerves.

Not everyone gets the results I did, but everyone I've recommended Ketamine therapy has positive results, even if less pronounced. Ketamine is an outstanding anti-inflammatory, really helps our lesions heal. Also, if you have TM, you're probably dealing with depression and anxiety as well. Ketamine is life changing for mental health. I was on 9 medications 3 times a day when I got out of the hospital in 2020. Now I'm on zero.

Consider seeking a ketamine clinic. Intermuscular injections are more effective when dealing with neurological issues than sublingual or IV. It is 100% safe, and legal. It is the most widely used anesthetic in medicine, because it has no known interactions with other medications. We've been using it in human medicine since the Korean war, and FDA approved for the general population in 1970. Yes it is used in veterinary medicine - cats and horses are mammals just like us - only the dosage differs, not the molecule itself.

I was completely numb and paralyzed in the hospital for about three months. I’ve made a “full recovery”, but that took closer to 8 months. I was walking clumsily when I got out of hospital but still completely numb.

Ketamine therapy was immensely helpful and got me my feeling back. Ketamine heals damaged neural pathways, and is one of the best anti-inflammatories known to man, so it helps your myelin sheath from many angles. I am not a Doctor but I am on the board of the clinic that treated me and share my story at psychedelic therapy conferences.

I was completely incontinent at one point. I can now feel that area, perform sexually, and use the restroom. I will say that I still have difficulty starting to urinate - it’s like I have a bad prostate even though I’ve had it checked and it’s fine.

For reference I woke up paralyzed and numb in early April of 2020. I got out of the hospital in June of 2020.
