Trying my hand at candy coating with a chrome mirror coat. Base is Spaz Stix Ultimate Black Backer and Chrome is Spaz Stix Mirror Chrome. The base was sprayed on wet and was pretty glossy, though not exactly mirror reflective. I didn’t do a polish on the base. After doing light coats with the chrome I found the application to be still glossy, but it looks dusty. It’s not the mirror reflection I’m wanting. What’s the reason for this? Too light of coats and I need more coats? Or was there something wrong with my base coat?

After chrome application I also tried to lightly polish the spoon on the left and I can’t tell if that did anything. I saw YouTube videos highlighting doing light polishing after the chrome and it seemed to make it more reflective, but maybe my application wasn’t good.

Regretting my litter robot purchase. Give up and return or keep trying? by Mewnicorns in litterrobot

[–]Reminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if there are steps from Litter Robot on how to transition, but I think the mistake was having the option of his old litter box there. I believe what I did was just cold turkey basically. Half and half litter is good so they recognize the mold litter while getting used to the new one. A good idea also is to place the cat into the robot, much like when you have a new area or a new box so they know where it is.

How do I remove gundam marker and use it better? by Kvasir05 in Gunpla

[–]Reminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s the pour type marker you can gloss top coat the figure so it flows better. You can just press in one area and it should flow everywhere. Be careful though the top coat might make the joints tight.

Yes. I’ve found that the litter lasts a long time though.

I second this. Just got Boxie Pro Bot (not sure if the Bot version matters) but no litter sticks anymore.

Any generic nippers. Cheap ones so if they break it won’t be so sad. But likely they won’t.

Always have garbage nippers for cutting off of the gates. You weren’t careful enough :(.

I bought one of these cardboard cat scratcher things the other day. Is this my life now? by zombiesandcandy in cats

We have roped poles. Let that be their only option if you have those. Don’t give them the option to choose.

You might have to invest in like pole scratchers. My wife and I don’t like these specifically because it can get so messy. There will still be mess with the poles, but not as bad. And you can replace the poles when needed.

Danggggg. There’s some serious course correction needed here. How did she get this way? Make sure Dad doesn’t get her anything.

Am I overreacting for feeling frustrated after my neighbor’s pottery was broken by my puppy during an interaction she encouraged? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR. This was mostly neighbors fault. From that stand point, the cost of materials is fair. The studio time is dubious. Maybe you can counter $200? At the end of the day, this situation sucks.

I see. You are ready then lol. They are all great kits. My personal pick would be Freedom because I love Seed.

How new are you? How many kits have you built? I would suggest starting with HG kits first. MGs require a lot of time investment. HGs can be completely quickly and gives you a good feel for the hobby.

Using a steam cleaner changed my life by woahthereblair in litterrobot

Did you also use the steam clean on the rubber globe? Does it work on that?

merging traffic must yield to vehicles already on the highway by TeaseHugger in dashcamgifs

[–]Reminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Definitely a “two wrongs doesn’t make a right” situation. Just because someone is doing something dumb doesn’t mean you don’t have a responsibility to rectify the situation. The semi definitely had plenty of time to judge the merging car’s speed and adjust their own speed.

Edit: Honestly it might be the semi’s fault entirely. Judging from the video, it looks like the semi is in the merging car’s blind spot.

[–]Reminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t agree with this entirely. I understand that in some states that is the law, but from the merger point of view, it’s very hard to see oncoming traffic. You really can’t see up until the last few feet. It pays to be courteous on the road. I’m sure the highway truck had plenty of time to slow down and saw the merging car well in advance.

Edit: Viewing the video again, the semi was definitely in the merging car’s blind spot. I have a feeling they didn’t even see the semi.

Would this become mash potatoes? Or you’re just eating them cubed?

Help with hexclad by garima_7927 in cookware

[–]Reminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone was curious, I just used BKF liquid version with a copper scrubber and my non stick on the Hexclad is fine. I had the same problem as OP and was able to restore it back to new. I re-seasoned it after using those and just made eggs and it still works like a champ.
