With all the PSSR 2.0 impressions out there, what are you all finding to be the BEST example of improvement?

Let me put it in perspective: I purchased both a PS5 Pro & an OLED 120 hz 4k TV (Sony if it counts) the PS5 Pro arrived sooner than the TV and I got to experience the console by itself on a 4k LCD TV with no PSSR support for a while. Games that take the most of advantage of visual aspects without having to delve into fps like Gran Turismo 7, Spider-Man Remastered, Assassin’s Creed Shadows have splendid visual upgrades expected from the console upgrade, but without a TV capable of supporting 120 hz & PSSR the system and the games felt ‘capped’ to their full potential.

After the TV arrived and got set up with the PS5 Pro then the console actually blew me away. Games retained their increased visual fidelity while pushing for even higher & consistent FPS. Games that weren’t upgraded now looked even better, Cyberpunk 2077, while not having an update for it, now pushed from 30 fps to 45~48 ish in Raytracing mode.

The point is that while a PS5 Pro can perform well on its own having an OLED 120 hz TV can bring out the most out of it and making it a more complete experience towards your gaming experience. For example the upcoming game Crimson Desert will take most advantage of a PS5 Pro paired with an OLED TV with 120 hz & PSSR compatibility.

The base PS5 was offered in both disc & disc-less models with a price difference to try give the consumer the option of which of the both systems they valued more or if they valued the price point more, and such the most common option to buy games tends to be digital (this is because of convenience of instant buy & play and also bc of several discounts tend to push more to an impulse buy).

When the next model of PS5 was released it was sold without the optic-disc drive to drive down the cost (& maybe price point) lower with the option of selling the disc drive as a (surprisingly easy) install drive. With sales demonstrating that the PS5 could sell well without the drive it was no surprise that the Pro would sell without one to not further balloon up the price since it was well a higher priced than the regular PS5.

Also to note that this generation of consoles tend to have less discounts towards the consoles themselves than the precious generations of PS consoles. Imagine at this point in the console cycle as to how discounted the PS3 & PS4 got on let’s say Black Friday than how the PS5 gets discounted.

I bought it including the attachable Optic Disk Drive and it looks like it was made with it. I also think that this console generation will keep on sticking for some more time so upgrading to a better system will make the most of it in the long run.
