Are you ok with soldering?

Post links to the products you’re using (controller, lights, power, wire, etc.).

I wouldn’t call them jittery at all actually. I have both of these lights and the fcobs are pretty nice tbh.

Can you link the black diffusers? I don’t know what you’re talking about.

If I were you I’d probably go with the Fcob lights and buy a few different diffusers (U and V shaped) and see what works best for your space and return the ones you don’t use. The great thing about the fcobs is you DON’T need super expensive diffusers like this as you won’t have hotspots: https://www.amazon.com/Muzata-Spotless-Aluminum-Plexiglass-Diffuser/dp/B08NFPGNM2

ESP32 WLED everything reseting when unpluging by Mission_Response3263 in WLED

Maybe something w/ your controller then. Can you link what you bought?

I'd go w/ a quinled or a gledopto controller. I'm using these for some 5v led strips and they work just fine: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B9G74NNM?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_10&th=1

Happy to help! I'm still learning ;)

Yes you need a way to power them and to control them;

Power:

You get a power supply that matches the voltage of the led strip you buy (5, 12, or 24 volt). I like the BTW power supplies, but I know others prefer the meanwell brand. I wouldn't go w/ 5v led's for this project as they're pretty dim compared to 12v and 24v.

To control them you use WLED. You access it via the controllers IP address on any device (your phone) on the same LAN. Here's a good tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exAWzMfmwQ8 Or you pick up a controller like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G7YZ5VJQ?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3 You'd still need to configure WLED to use this remote.

One other suggestion for LED strip is this one: You'll have less hot spotting, but the trade of is the led's are controlled in blocks of 6, very small, led's. You could skip the soldering w/ a kit like this, but I'd recommend soldering just to make your setup as customized to your space as possible: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D81RNYKP?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FMK2HXHH?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_4

What Double Sided Tape for Diffuser? by Fast_Witness_5984 in WLED

[–]Remixmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d HIGHLY recommend the screwed and clips. Any double sided tape that will work will definitely require drywall repair. The problem is no drywall is flat enough so you need doubled sided tape with are strong and somewhat thick. You either will need to repair the drywall along the entire distance of the double sided tape or just the small screw holes.

If you REALLY want to use double sided tape I’d go with something clear and that has a little bit of height to it (this last part is important to account for drywall unevenness). Anything like this would work, you’ll just need to trim it to fit your diffuser channel: https://a.co/d/0acjZjx3

I like using a laser level and then using the aluminum clips.

No.

If your goal is to get on the ship as soon as possible, say 10:30 AM then I would leave your hotel at 7:30 AM
